Insider tips about what future students should not miss If Stefania is doing her walkabout tours on Friday afternoons, by all means go! She really knows what she's talking about, she's a hoot, and she's brilliant at speaking slowly enough and simply enough that even low-level students can understand her.

Other comments Overall, my experience was very good. I may well go back. However, I think they need a larger facility. Some of the classrooms are not really big enough for the larger classes, they really could use a library/listening lab, and there are not enough rest rooms! A footnote to "Distance from accommodation to school": I was moved from one homestay to another after one month (arranged in advance). This was not a problem particularly. The second place was 15-20 minutes by public transport, but I chose to walk, which was 50 minutes.

Other comments I think there could be improvement in the techniques used in the conversation class. This is my weak area, and I don't think I improved much. I've attended 4 different schools and have the same complaint about all of them. The teachers do most of the talking, which doesn't help the students improve their skills.

Quality of teaching / language progress: The information suggested that I would be on a one week course. What I was on was one week of a longer course and I just slotted into what was already being taught, so that was rather misleading. I recognise that it's not possible to arrange a course just for me, or for whoever is coming just for one week but the information needs to stop suggesting that you do anything other than fit into another, ongoing class, for a week, doing what they're doing, not necessarily what you really need to be doing.

Very informal, friendly teachers, relaxed atmosphere.
Disliked
Classrooms too small, sometimes too many students next to each other. Only a small folding board on the chair for writing was a bit awkward. The walls were very thin and you could hear the teachers in the next room during lessons, which was very annoying.

Questions and answers about Centro Linguistico Italiano Dante Alighieri

  • For elementary students I don't suggest the G4. It's a grammar course, effective for speakers who have a good ability in speaking and wants to improve the grammar knowledge.... When the language learning is "academic" and not through the daily life we suggest the G8 course at least, for improving all the abilities. With the G4 course the student takes the risk to have a good knowledge of the grammar but poor abilities in listening comprehension and oral production.
    Fabrizio, LanguageCourse.net - Mar 02, 2022
