The intensive Italian language course is our standard course, and consists of 4 Italian lessons a day, totalling 20 lessons a week.

The lessons are held from Monday to Friday in groups of 12 students, led by qualified teachers, who are passionate about their work.
The lessons begin every Monday for students that already have some knowledge of the Italian language, and every two weeks for absolute beginners.

The lessons are principally based on spoken communication, but also deal with the more formal aspects of the language (lexis/vocabulary and grammar). Lots of time is dedicated to activities that encourage dialogue and discussion about various topics, from art and literature, to modern city culture.

The teachers use not only text books, but also other support materials (newspaper articles, songs, films and other authentic material from everyday life) to give students the opportunity to engage with different forms of contemporary communication and to improve their communication abilities.

Our golden rule is: the teacher is the director, but the group of students are the real protagonists of the lessons.

This course is reserved for Swedish students with CSN study grants only.
students of Swedish nationality can apply for a study loan to attend a language course in any of Scuola Leonardo da Vinci schools (Florence, Milan, Rome and Turin) as they are all recognized by CSN Lund - Sweden (Swedish National Board of Student Aid).

Financial state loans from the CSN are only available for Swedish students.

An ideal combination of group and private lessons allows the student to learn in two different ways: on one hand there's studying in group, where you can benefit from the communicative dynamics, learning together with others, in a group of a maximum of 14 students. On the other hand, you can also follow a personalized and intensive study programme taking advantage of the expertise and attention offered by a private lesson.

It is recommended to those students who want to add two private lessons to the regular ones, for a deeper insight. Along with your teacher, you can also create your own programme, adjusting it to your own professional or personal needs.

This course consists of the Intensive course of 20 group lessons per week and 5 private classes per week.

4 daily Italian language group lessons with students of different nationalities.
6 weekly lessons on selected days with the following programme:

• History of the Italian emigration;
  
• Analysis of the region and the place where the student's ancestors started their
  journey;
  
• Study of the dialect spoken in the region of origin;
  
• Research on the origins of the student’s surname with the help of the teacher;
  
• Planning the visit to the place of origin of the student’s family.

Learn Italian and discover Italy at the same time:

20 group Italian lessons per week in at least 2 different cities. Choose between Florence, Milan, Siena and Rome. The school provides assistance with transfers between the cities (cost not included).

The school is located in 5 wonderful cities: Florence , Milan, Rome, Turin and Viareggio and offers Italian language courses with the same dates, the same prices and following similar curricula. You can easily and comfortably move from one place to another as you explore Italy. It is a unique opportunity for students to spend their holidays in Italy attending an Italian language course in each of the school´s locations.

The student chooses the route and length of stay. The minimum stay in each city is one week.

Included in the programme is an intensive Italian language course of 20 lessons per week.

This course consists of 20 lessons of group intensive language lessons and 5 one-to-one classes on the culture of the past and present of Italy. Topics covered in the cultural programme include Art and Culture, History and Folklore, Media and Films and the Political and Economic situation of Italy.

Italy Today' course: Italian language and culture

Recommended for:
Students that already have basic Italian linguistic skills and in addition to improving their language, want to know more about the Italian culture, history and to understand its economic, social and political situation.

'Italy Today' is a programme that combines the Intensive Italian language course (4 Italian lessons a day, a total of 20 lessons a week) with a collection of lessons about Italian culture, history, economics and society.
The course is available for 2 or 4 weeks.

A deep understanding of another culture is achieved by aquiring linguistic abilities, but also through studying and examining the history and society: in the programme of this course, these two aspects are perfectly combined.

2 or 4 weeks for total immersion in the Italian culture, spirit and outlook.

Orientation tour of the city; a visit to the Cinema Museum and to the Egyptian Museum; Wine or Chocolate tasting and a traditional ‘Bagna Caoda’ dinner.
Week 2:
The two week programme consists of a weekend excursion to Reggia di Venaria or to Alba (Fiera del Tartufo) or to Asti (Sagre festival), classes about Risorgimentofollowed by a trip to the Risorgimento Museum, Royal Palace or Madama Palace, cooking lesson, “Torino Magica” guided tour, visit to Automobile Museum, Historical Cafés Tour and ‘Apericena’ in the “Quadrilatero” area.
Students will learn Italian in a pleasant amd relaxing environment, accompanied by a wide variety of cultural activities.

The Italian Language Course for Families has been designed with this specific objective: to give all members of the family the opportunity to understand and/or speak the Italian language through an Intensive Group course that mainly focuses on the communication skills. The course is aimed at whole families, with one or more children, provided they are over 12 years old. Every single family member will be placed in the most suitable class, based on the initial level of knowledge of the language. We will pay particular attention to the inclusion of younger students within the classes, so that they can get the most out of this experience.

This course consists of:

• 480 lessons of Italian lessons.
  
• 80 lessons of exam preparation.
  
• 80 lessons in an academic subject such as Italian Civilisation and History, Art History, Business Italian or History of Italian Fashion and Design.
  
• 10 contact hours of tutoring.
  
  There are 2 weeks holidays over Christmas. Students can join the social activities provided by the school.
  
  The programme includes two components:
  
  1 Linguistic component
  
• 480 lessons of the intensive Italian language course (4 lessons a day, 20 a week, from Monday to Friday)
  
• 80 lessons to prepare for the AIL diploma.
  
  2 Culture components:
  
• History of Art (24 lessons)

  At the end of the course, students must write an essay on a topic of their choice, with the help of our school library and of a personal tutor that will assist them for 10 lessons.

This course consists of:

• 320 Italian language lessons.
  
• 40 lessons of exam preparation classes.
  
• 20 lessons over 2 weeks of cultural lesson in areas such as art history, literature or fashion.
  
  Students can attend the social activities provided by the school.
  
  • The «Gap Semester» Course is held from Monday to Friday and includes:
  •• 16 weeks of Intensive Italian language course, 4 lessons per day (20 lessons per
  week), total 320 lessons.
  •• Preparation course for the Italian Language Diploma examination of the
  appropriate level reached by the student: 40 lessons.
  •• 2 weeks of cultural courses (Art History, Literature, Fashion): 20 lessons.
  • Examination fees.
  • During the «Gap Semester», students will participate in the preparation course for the
  «Firenze» Italian language Diploma Examination of the Accademia Italiana di Lingua - AIL.
  • All students are free to take part in the weekly cultural and social activities organized
  by the school.

These courses consist of a programme with a minimum duration of 2 weeks, which consists of 4 lessons of the intensive Italian language course plus 2 private lessons during which you deal with specific topics of the chosen professional course.
