How we create the points regarding what we like/dislike about a school
Location: CREF is a language school that is just on the edge of the inner part of the city of Moscow. It is walking distance from the Temple of Saint Louis of France and Sretensky Monastery, and close to the Sretensky Boulevard. The school is close to a lively section of Moscow, which has a vast selection of bars and restaurants that have congregated around the HSE University.
Public transportation: The closest metro station to CREF is Turgenevskaya, which is a stop on service six. Across the street from this stop is the Chistye prudy station, and from here students can ride line one. The whole metro system in Moscow is very effective, and students can reach just about the entirety of the city from the lines around the school.
Features of the city: The Bolshoi Theatre, State Historical Museum and Red Square are 20 minutes by foot from CREF.
Course structure: There is one option for a Russian group course, and a selection of private lessons of different intensities. The individual classes can be taken in the morning, afternoon or evening, and can be structured on the students availability. Along with the students chosen course, each option includes a level test, certification on completion and access to the schools free wifi throughout the building.
School facilities: The premise offers 15 comfortable classrooms, all fitted with modern equipment.

The classes take place in the morning (beginning at 9:00 a.m.). Classes start every other Monday, and begin once a month for complete beginners.
The courses are available from Beginner’s to Upper Intermediate levels (A1 to B1). If you’re not a complete beginner, you will be asked to take our online test in order to assess your level before coming to CREF. This enables the school to place you in the group that corresponds the most to your level.
Lessons can be organised in the morning, in the day or in the evening. Rates include: entry tests, twenty 90-minute classes per week, level certificates, and access to Wi-Fi within the school premises.
Special note for 2024 holiday season: If you plan to take a course during the high season months of April, June, July or August 2024 we urgently advise you to book as early as possible. In 2023 many schools were fully booked during the holidays, and the situation is unlikely to be different for 2024 due to a current shortage of teachers, which affects most schools.

Generally course material has to be purchased by the student. The costs of course material will be approximately 40 € per course level.
Individual classes
Single individual lessons of tuition can be reserved at 70 €. The combination of group and individual lessons is highly recommended. Individual lessons will encourage you to actively speak the foreign language and will offer you the opportunity to discuss individual problems and weaknesses.

Other comments I enjoyed the course very much and I would love to go back or to recommend it. However, I would like to address three points that seem important to me:
1) In my opinion, a language course for adults should be designed differently than a course for juniors or a language course in high school. I understand that beginners need to learn conjugation, grammar and vocabulary. But there is more to it; sometimes it felt like "drilling" in high school.
2) I expected to be in a group course (6-8 people). However, during the first week we were only three students and the next 2 weeks, I was the only student. I understand that there cannot be a group if there are no other students with the same level. But I was not informed about that.
