Venue: Diversity Language School Puerto Viejo is only a block away from the Caribbean Sea in Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, on Costa Rica’s northern coast, near the border with Panamá. Puerto Viejo is well known among surfers for having the best waves in the country and the area is popular among tourists for its relatively undeveloped beaches: Playa Cocles, Playa Negra, Playa Chiquita. In the area around Puerto Viejo is the Cahuita National Park, and the Gandoca-Manzanillo Mixed Wildlife Refuge, both of which are easy to get to from the school.
The school: Diversity Language School focuses on providing courses for responsible travellers. Their Spanish programmes generally include activities like cultural immersion or surf camp, but they also offer their students the opportunity to volunteer in local projects such as sea turtle conservation, reforestation, environmental education and campaigns, animal rescue, and support programmes for public and private schools.

Learn Spanish using a cultural immersion approach, traveling to a country with native speakers is the best way to learn a new language. But your experience cannot stop there, now that you're abroad you can also complement your language course with activities in which you can discover the culture and the most beautiful places in Latin America, even help the places you'll visit in social and environmental volunteer programs.
Diversity School loves to welcome open minded students that are interested in learning about the local culture and are willing to lend a helping hand by cleaning after themselves. The school offers weekly workshops free of charge like cooking class, yoga class or Latin dance class. Furthermore they have bi-weekly movie nights and environmental workshops as well as beach cleanups that you can support.
