Don Quijote Valencia is situated in a fully renovated 15th-century palace in the heart of the old city centre in the El Carmen neighbourhood of Ciutat Vella. A 5-minute walk from the Plaça de la Reina, Cathedral of Valencia, the Serrano Towers and the Central Market, you are in a great place to enjoy the city to its fullest. With both bus and metro stops close by, you are also just a short ride from the beach.
The school offers free Wi-Fi throughout, giving students ample time to enjoy relaxing in the comfy common areas and terrace, between classes. Don Quijote Valencia is also happy to assist students in arranging excursions and activities such as to the Bioparc Valencia, the Oceanográfic aquarium or simply having breakfast at the Central Market - to give just a few examples. This will help you discover the best that the city has to offer.
Don Quijote Valencia offers a great range of courses, catering for all levels of students and types of study. If you are looking for a General Spanish course in-group, semi-private or private classes, they will be sure to have the course for you. They also offer more specific courses for the mature student with their 50+ programme, along with International Summer camps and Junior programmes for the younger students. In addition to this, the school offers Business courses and Exam Preparation courses for both the DELE and SIELE exams.

The ideal profile for Don Quijote’s Intensive 20 Spanish course are those people who want to make significant progress with their Spanish language skills quickly, over a short period of time. Those who take this course will enjoy a fully immersive language experience both in and out of their classroom.
No matter where your Spanish skills currently are, you’ll find yourself assigned to a group that closely corresponds to your level, and with a maximum of 12 participants in every group.
The priority is getting each student to a point where they can express themselves comfortably in the areas of their lives that they need to, and this is reflected in the school’s preference for interactive and participatory classes.

Special note for 2025 holiday season: If you plan to take a course during the high season months of April, June, July or August 2025 we urgently advise you to book as early as possible. In 2024 many schools were fully booked during the holidays, and the situation is unlikely to be different for 2025 due to a current shortage of teachers, which affects most schools.

“In my opinion, the strengths of the school are clearly the lessons, the small classes, the commitment of the teachers and the friendly responsiveness/ helpfulness of the reception. I benefited a lot language-wise; we were always encouraged to express ourselves in Spanish, only switching to English in emergencies. The atmosphere in class was pleasant.”
“The " welcome" on Monday morning (1st day) was impersonal and distant. I find this in need of improvement! We were sent to the respective classrooms after the test, were not given an overview of the room situation or information about the existence of a library (was there one?) and - apart from the historical tour on the first day - about other possible afternoon activities. It was only by chance that a fellow pupil drew my attention to the information board in the second week (in this respect perhaps also due to my inattention). In the school, the coffee and other vending machines did not work most of the time, so that one had to look around the school's surroundings during the 20-minute break if necessary (which was possible due to the good location).”

Quality of teaching / language progress: Very good idea to offer this group additional afternoon activities. The quality of the excursions was very different. On the Saturday excursion to Albufeira (for all language students) the time management was not successful.
Other comments The course participants have to buy a thick, heavy book that has to be carried around all day if, like me, you live a long way out and don't go back during your lunch break. Storage options, e.g. lockable compartments, would be helpful. In addition, one could relieve teachers and students through better media equipment.

“- unmotivated management. I wanted to swap my 20-lessons group course for 5 individual lessons. This was not possible.
- I wanted to change because I didn't like the group course system. It was too fast for me. It may be that others have a quicker grasp of things.

CLASS SCHEDULE
Classes can take place either in the morning or in the afternoon, it'll be decided on your first day. 80% of the classes are in the morning, but to guarantee 100% morning classes, there is a EUR 15 per week fee.
Individual classes
Single individual lessons of tuition can be reserved at 49 €. The combination of group and individual lessons is highly recommended. Individual lessons will encourage you to actively speak the foreign language and will offer you the opportunity to discuss individual problems and weaknesses.

"booked: Half board.
Breakfast in Spain consists of coffee and at best a small croissant, my host mother was helpful and offered me toast, margarine and jam. Later I got some cheese and was given baguette. But that's ok, other countries, other habits.
She was cooking herself, simple home cooking. She had a hard time with my vegetarian diet, which she had announced in advance, but she made an effort. Unfortunately, I didn't get an insight into Spanish cuisine, which other classmates told me about; I would have had to go to the restaurants for that. I had difficulties with the fact that the flat was very dark, as she always kept the curtains closed and we ate breakfast in artificial light. I only had light in my room. My host mother was always approachable and helpful, knew about bus connections and gave tips. It was an interesting experience for 2 weeks, with all the pros and cons."

The main negative point was the transport connections, because the bus only drove every half hour and often came too late or too early. I solved the problem by renting a bike. "There was no mosquito screen and no air conditioning, so you would want to be able to open your window in the evening. And a limited number of hangers in the wardrobe.
