By taking EC Vancouver’s General English course, you will work on each of the four broad language skills, which are: Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing. The course consists of 20 classes per week but at just 15 hours in total per week. This programme provides you with access to a wide range of universities and colleges to choose from across Canada, including some of the country’s most highly ranked institutions.
Once you graduate from a Canadian university, you are eligible for a work permit for up to three years. With this permit, you can even consider applying to become a permanent resident in Canada.

Information for all courses offered by EC English
Students under 18 must book homestay, a return airport transfer and provide a parental consent form. Minors traveling with parents are exempt from these requirements.
High season fee not applicable to bookings longer than 12 weeks.
Additional fees:
- Bank transfer fee: CAD 40.
- Student insurance (optional) up to 69 years of age: CAD 30 (per week).
- Course material is CAD 12 per week (maximum CAD 96).
Students who want to book one-to-one lessons need to book a minimum of two and a maximum of 10 per week in conjunction with a group course.
Lessons may alternate between morning and afternoon sessions.

Students often choose a homestay for a first-hand experience of Canadian culture, where they can practice their English language skills in a comfortable and natural environment. All homestays are different and unique, some Canadians live in apartments or condos and others live in the suburbs in family homes. Some homestay providers are single and live alone, others are married couples and large families.
Students are responsible for their own laundry and laundry supplies such as detergent etc. However, homestays are required to give students access to the laundry facilities and show them how to use the machines. Hosts must provide and wash students’ towels and linens.
Students studying in EC Vancouver have the option of choosing a single room or a twin room. Each room has a bed, a desk, a lamp and a cupboard. All rooms must also have a window at eye level.
