Location: Elcano School is a Spanish language school located in the coastal city of Alicante, Spain. The school is housed in the city centre within walking distance of Alicante's Old Town, several eateries, bars and attractions such as the Teatro Principal d'Alacant, Carrer de Las Setas, Playa Postiguet, El Mercat Central d'Alacant, the Passeig de l'Esplanada and much more.
Course selection: Elcano School in Alicante provides Spanish courses for students of all levels throughout the year. In addition to General Spanish taught over various schedules and intensities, the school also provides DELE Exam Preparation programmes, semi-private and private lesson packs and individual private lessons, which can be taken independently or in conjunction with any other course. Online programmes are also available for distance learning.
Social and cultural: The school has a varied cultural programme where all activities are given in Spanish. Such activities available to students include Salsa dancing, snorkelling, beach volleyball, horse riding and trips to destinations such as Valencia, Calpe, Altea, Benidorm, Elche and much more.

The intensive 20-hour Spanish course for foreigners is the most popular and requested in the Spanish academy in Alicante.
Thanks to this course you will be able to deal with different aspects of grammar and a greater vocabulary content. You will spend more time building up a conversation, emphasizing certain cultural aspects of the Hispanic world. This will allow the student to learn and practice Spanish in the classroom through the target language, traditions, and culture.
During the 4-hour class of Spanish, 1 hour will be dedicated exclusively for conversation and to reinforce the most significant aspects of each level.
Special note for 2024 holiday season: If you plan to take a course during the high season months of April, June, July or August 2024 we urgently advise you to book as early as possible. In 2023 many schools were fully booked during the holidays, and the situation is unlikely to be different for 2024 due to a current shortage of teachers, which affects most schools.

The Semi Intensive program is generally aimed at students who live in Alicante for a longer time or want to combine both their work and their studies with Spanish classes.
It is also offered the Spanish course for immigrants in which you learn the basics to start in a new country, a more unknown culture to some than to others and where all facets of the language are developed.
There are 2 sessions of 1.5h each week during the afternoons with the convenience of accessing different schedules depending on the availability and level of Spanish. The course is eminently in Spanish and takes place in a communicative, participatory environment, where everyone enjoys themselves, discusses and emphasizes the topics proposed by the teacher based on the needs and objectives of the students.

The Spanish course for foreigners Intensive 15h is aimed at students who not only want to study grammar but also apply the knowledge acquired in class in a practical way in different contexts.
The lessons last 3 hours a day, usually during the mornings from 9 to 12 hours with a break of 15 minutes.
