Using a unique and innovative approach to learning French.

Language learning can often be a source of anxiety. Fear of expressing oneself in public or difficulties in understanding often form a block that starts at school and that is sometimes difficult to overcome. ELFE offers an innovative method with the quantum leap.

In physics, a quantum leap is an abrupt change in the state of a system, almost instantaneously. We go from a given energy state to another energy state. Applied to language learning, it is a matter of getting out of a state where one has often been settled for a long time with certainties about the impossibility of progressing and finally being able to use the language in question in a fluent manner and to understand it in various oral communication situations.

This is also the leap that any student in intensive training can make in oral expression and comprehension from the end of level A2, known as the “elementary” level.

Training content

• Systematic oral comprehension exercises. A2, B1, B2.
  
• The use of songs, not only as an introduction to French culture, but also as a way to memorize idiomatic expressions, vocabulary and to become familiar with the rhythm of the language. Fun learning that rhymes with pleasure!
  
• Listening and speaking exercises at B2 level from the end of A2 level. Listening work on excerpts from television news, then restitution of the information through role-plays between two or more people. This method is the key to training. The student understands almost nothing at the first listening. The understanding is progressive and the student is able to reproduce all the information as the exercises progress. It is a very effective cognitive tool: the learner’s brain becomes aware of its ability to express itself at length, to clarify its thoughts and to explain information in detail.
  
• If necessary, hypnosis, sophrology and even EMDR can be used for major blocks.

The intensive or extensive private tutoring programmes offers great flexibility. They are adapted to the pace, needs and availability of each individual.

They can be taken separately or in addition to group classes to work on a specific area of interest or related to your profession, to learn to be more at ease in speaking or writing or to prepare for an exam (TCF, DELF, DALF).

Classes can be taken at the school, at your home or at your company premises, in person or by video conference.

You can also opt for the DUO or TRIO formula by taking your lessons with one or two other people who are at the same learning level as you.

• Intensive week: 15 hours of private lessons and 5 lunches with the teacher for people who have little time to brush up on their French and want to combine business with pleasure!

Includes: 5 hours of general French in a group, a 2.5-hour communication workshop and a 2.5-hour excursion per week.

The internship gives you the opportunity to practice professional French in real conditions and to add a new international experience to your CV.

6 weeks of French course + 6 weeks internship.

For students who wish to follow a French course and acquire a first professional experience in a French company, ELFE offers French classes followed by an internship.

This formula allows you to complete your group French course with an internship in the sector of your choice in order to acquire a first professional experience in a French company. The fields are very varied: humanitarian, health, administration, art & architecture, journalism, advertising, law, international organizations.

The school will help you find your internship according to your profile, your experience and your training.

The internship gives you the opportunity to practice professional French in real conditions and to add a new international experience to your CV.

The au pair stay is always a formative experience and a very rich cultural exchange: discovery of the way of life, education, local gastronomy, but also and above all of the language, these are the major points of this immersion.

ELFE offers to accompany you in this experience, with adapted French courses in intercultural groups of 17 people maximum during your au pair stay. This is a highly interactive course with an emphasis on oral communication. Homework is given at each class.

The timetable is specially designed to fit in with the young people’s schedules: no classes on Wednesdays or during school vacations.

Th excursions will enable you to focus on fashion by visiting a fashion museum or boutique with a teacher in the afternoon (e.g. Musée Galliera or Musée Carnavalet).

The objective of the intensive A-Level and Abitur preparation course is to provide you with the essential lexical and grammatical tools to communicate in French and to give you the keys to best prepare for your final exam.

This interactive course is taught in small cross-cultural groups every morning for 1 week.

Through presentation exercises and role-plays, teachers help you improve your general language skills while focusing on essential aspects of the exam: summaries, study and commentary of literary texts, analysis of authentic documents, etc. Homework is given at the end of each class.

In addition to your 15 hours of classes, you can attend a Friday excursion to discover Paris or add private lessons.
