Student opinions about Escuela Montalbán, Granada

Liked
The thing that I liked most about the school is that they managed to make learning Spanish fun. Normally during my classes in University the classes seem to take forever. But in Escuela Montalban time passes like no other. This is definitely because of the teachers the school employs. All teachers keep you engaged throughout the entire class with fun games, constantly asking questions, fun current topics to talk about.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss I would definitely recommend that you stay for a minimum period of 4 weeks so that you can really feel at home in the Spanish culture. Trust me, if you decide to take a language course here you will not be disappointed.

Other comments Besides the awesome teachers Escuela Montalban has, they also make sure that you experience Spanish culture to the fullest. They plan cultural activities every day and on weekends they even offer scuba diving, hiking in the Alpujarras, and a weekend in Morocco. I cannot wait to go back!

The school is not a large one so that the number of enrolled students can be very small at specific times of the year. The end of the August is such time. Even if there were some cultural or social activities planned, they were cancelled because there weren't enough students to carry out such activities. So those who are considering to study at this school should keep that in mind.

Quality of teaching / language progress: I studied at this school for two weeks, and the first week, there were very few students and I ended up with taking one to one lesson with one of the professors, Paco. It was the first time that I took such a lesson, and his way of teaching is very practical, creative, and a lot of fun! I really appreciate it.
Other comments The atmosphere of the school is really relaxed yet professional. The staff are sympathetic and keep a comfortable distance from their clients.

I particularly liked the humor and ease with which the teachers approached the lessons. This immediately created a relaxed, positive and extremely funny learning atmosphere in our group. The focus was on the conversation, but there were plenty of suggestions through various exercises and games. Grammar and vocabulary were then incorporated rather incidentally.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss You should definitely not miss the wonderful flamenco evening! And if you are looking to connect, you should definitely join the leisure activities.

Other comments The school is small and neat, with a beautiful inner courtyard. In the immediate vicinity there are a churreria and various tapas bars, as well as smaller hotels. The private accommodation may be appropriate for schoolkids and students, otherwise I would definitely recommend looking for the accommodation yourself.

All the teachers I met were very kind and friendly, accurate and experienced while teaching at the same time. They managed to smoothly coordinate the group of members with diverse age, nationality and personality. The lessons were exciting, not only had my language skills been developed but my knowledge about the country, the culture, and the people too.

Great teachers, good learning-playing-remembering balance, nice atmosphere in school, very good organization and help.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss If you can afford to stay in a hostel (30-35 euro per day), do - it's really worth it. Very nice people, it's safe (locked every single moment) and you can try local food in restaurants.

Other comments The school itself is pretty, with a nice courtyard, good amenities like clean bathrooms and many computers with internet. DVDs can be borrowed and watched at home. The people that work there, including the manager, his secretary, and all the teachers are extremely friendly, fun, warm, and knowledgeable. I had reserved for one week, then extended it to two weeks, and then the day before leaving reserved for a third week, I was enjoying myself so much. The apartment that we were assigned to was very big and had everything we could need, and we made friends and had a lot of fun while living there.
