When I read the description of the school, it said that the average age of the students are 27 year old or something. I am 40, so I thought I wouldn't be able to make friends at school but I met students youngest 17 year old and oldest 62 year old. I made lots of friends there and teachers and admin staffs were all very very friendly.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss They arrange so many activities on Thu. & Fri. afternoons, and weekend trips as well. There are very good opportunities to talk to the teachers and admin staffs in French and you can also learn more about the city and culture. Definitely worth joining the afternoon activities. My favourite one was making my own perfume with one of the admin lady. Now I have my original perfume!!!

Quality of teaching / language progress: I am 100% happy with my study at Eurocentres. I regret not to have taken a longer course though. 4 weeks studying French from the scratch is not enough at all. If given the chance I would definitely go back there and study another 4 to 8 weeks. No complaints at all. Amazing experience.
Other comments The school is surrounded by cafes, restaurants, and shops which sell food. You can enjoy so many kinds of food there.

Quality of teaching / language progress: I really liked how the classes were from 9-13 monday to friday, because you still had time to hang out with friends, explore the city etc. after school. The location is amazing. The staff is super friendly. Most teachers were quite good or really good.
Disliked
Not all teachers were good. (I had 4, one was bad.) The organisation of tests and exams is a bit chaotic. People are making tests in the same room were discussions are being held. The online system is not really intuitive. There was one excursion in the afternoon, from other language schools in France and Italy I am used to three or four per week plus more social activities, and a more social vibe at school. Which makes this school definitely a bit less suitable for a “language learning vacation”, if you are looking for that.

Other comments Cons: There was no wireless internet available for the entire month of August. Just before leaving for France, I was asked to provide proof of my payment to the school as they could not find it. After I had wired the money to the school, I emailed a request that they confirmed that they received the money. I received a response that they had, indeed, received the money. So it was disconcerting to be asked to provide proof of payment. I understand that ownership has changed and this has caused some transition difficulties.

Let's say a teacher who didn't go to so much trouble to explain things and instead left the pupils talking to each other (luckily I only met her a few times and it wasn't that bad)

  • Bayswater is located at 13 Passage Dauphine - 75006 Paris. The school is perfectly located on a quiet pedestrian street in the heart of the Latin Quarter. It is very close to all attractions: the banks of the Seine, the Louvre Museum or the Orsay Museum, the Notre Dame Cathedral or the Luxembourg Park are within walking distance. The Latin Quarter is one of the young, trendy and vibrant areas of Paris with fashionable shops, fun and lively sidewalk cafes, bakeries and patisseries.

  • Homestay accommodation is organized at the time of booking. Personal interests of the students, eating habits, allergies, age, etc. are taken into account in the assignment. The families are about 45 minutes away from the school by public transport. Some students are closer to the school, others also have to drive a little longer. We cannot guarantee that in advance because we do not yet know your personal profile. Unfortunately, you cannot select a specific family in advance of the booking, because the school only organizes the accommodation when you make the reservation.
    Sabine Krafack, LanguageCourse.Net - Mar 30, 2023
  • The children in the programme are 10-14 years old and are divided into different classes after a placement test. Your daughter will then learn at a fairly high level with correspondingly older students, according to her level of knowledge. The materials and teaching methods are also adapted to the interests of juniors so that they have fun while learning!
