Location: Expanish Malaga is a modern Spanish language school located in the historic and bustling city of Malaga, Andalusia, Spain. Housed in the historic city centre, the school is surrounded by eateries, restaurants, links to public transport and many attractions and places of social and cultural interest. Such sites within walking distance of the school include the Museo Carmen Thyssen Málaga, the Museo Picasso Málaga, the Alcazaba Medieval Palace, the Catedral de la Encarnación de Málaga and much more. Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport is within a 20-minute taxi or 40-minute journey via public transport from the school.
Course selection: Course selection with Expanish Malaga is extensive. In addition to General Spanish courses taught over several schedules and intensities, the school provides packages of one-to-one tuition, Exam Preparation programmes (SIELE, DELE) and Internship programmes (2, 3, 6 months). Private lessons are available in conjunction with or independently from any other course.
Accommodation: Expanish Malage supplies accommodation in homestays with local families, in student-shared apartments and studio rentals. All accommodation is subject to availability. As Standard, Homestay accommodation comes with breakfast and dinner daily (half board).
Social and cultural: Malaga is a city ripe with social and cultural happenings and Expanish Malaga embraces this with four free activities per week. Such activities can include walking tours of the historic centre, cooking classes, language exchanges and much more.

Intensive Spanish is the most popular course on offer from Expanish at all their schools. Your Spanish skill development will evolve thanks to 20 hours per week of carefully designed lesson plans that focus on all four of the main areas of learning a second language: reading, writing, speaking and listening.
Your classes throughout this course will be small, meaning that you and your teacher will get to know each other more, and thus work effectively together to move you towards your Spanish language goals. You will use a course book as a means of having a clear and well-structured curriculum, and your experienced and passionate teachers will also provide you and your peers with engaging and stimulating activities to supplement this, which might include video clips, debates, and so on.

“The staff and the teachers are extremely supportive and welcoming and the classes are fun. Elena is a great teacher who knows many modern methods including games and digital learning techniques. Don’t worry about not comprehending the spoken language: The teachers all speak standard Spanish in their classes instead of the local accent. ;)
We were round about 10 students in our class, which I liked a lot, because it made it easy to interact and make friends. In general I have met a lot of fun people and there wasn’t one dull moment. The evening activities organized by the school are varied and range from cultural events to sports and sightseeing. In addition it is a great tradition that the school holds an assembly every Friday after classes to officially say goodbye to all students who have their last day.”
“Just one tiny thing: I felt like the 10 minutes oral interview prior to the course wasn’t quite enough to assess the learner’s level. Personally I had the impression to have been placed in a slightly too high class whereas others, who spoke much better than me, were assigned a lower level. I am also sure I could have changed to another class but honestly, I liked my group a lot and didn’t want to start over in a new class with other people. So maybe, just as a suggestion, it would be a good idea to complement the interview with a written exam for a more accurate placement?

"The shared apartment was super close to the school and also located right in the city center. The downside of that was that it was extremely loud at night. The apartment was literally right above a very busy nightclub that was well visited EVERY night of the week. So me and my flatmates couldn’t sleep without earplugs. Of course, if you like to party, you’re right where you belong. ;)
The cleanliness level was pretty good. The apartment is cleaned once a week, including the rooms. There is also a well equipped kitchen and a washing machine.
A bit annoying was that one of the bathroom doors didn’t always lock. "
