Location: Les ateliers FL Bordeaux is located in the capital city of the French New-Aquitaine region, Bordeaux. The school is housed within a 19th-century building in the heart of Bordeaux's downtown district, with easy access to cafés, restaurants, shops, supermarkets, and many of the city's attractions. Within walking distance of the Place de la Bourse, Bordeaux Cathedral, the Place de la Comedie, the Public Gardens and the National Opera of Bordeaux, students have much to keep them occupied inside and outside of the classroom. There are both bus and tram stations just minutes from the school's front doors. Bordeaux Airport is within a 45-minute journey of the school via public transport or a 25-minute taxi ride.
School facilities: Les ateliers FL Bordeaux has excellent facilities from a fantastic location in the historical city centre. These facilities include microwave use for students, a computer lab, a lounge area for relaxation, and a private garden. All classrooms are equipped with heating, air conditioning, and ample natural light to create an optimal learning environment.

This is Les ateliers FL’s most popular programme, at all levels of French language ability. This course uses a methodology in which the student is provided with a general and comprehensive education on the French language, with the possibility of the individual student taking workshops that focus on the specific aspects of French study that are the most interesting or important for them personally.
Workshops can be focused on business French, culture, and conversation practice, among others.
Study French three hours each day and still have plenty of time to discover France and its culture! The standard French programme enables you to learn French according to your needs and your availability!
The course includes 20 general French lessons + 2 online workshops per week.
Les ateliers FL does not offer passive, sit back and learn French lessons. Group classes use collaborative learning, where the group members work together in their language acquisition, making for an engaging, interactive class.
NOTE: The 20 lesson programme generally takes place in the mornings.

COURSE
French classes take place in the Les ateliers FL school based on 20 lessons per week. The objective is to improve the students’ French level and reach the required level to enter a university (confirmed B2).
The first part of the program will focus on improving the students’ French level and reach the required level to enter a university (confirmed B2). The students will then follow a specific exam preparation course to make sure they all pass their DELF/DALF exam required to enter a university in France.
The last part of the program will focus on preparing the students for French university and making sure they can follow a lecture course: - Discovery of the French university system
- Master the main academic expression techniques (abstract, essay, review, document synthesis, oral presentation)
- Master note-taking skills
- Master the oral presentation
ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANCE
A dedicated team will help the students with the administrative procedures before their departure

This program allows teachers to update their knowledge of contemporary France and the French language in perpetual evolution. It helps develop teaching techniques and work on class dynamics while deepening knowledge of French culture and civilization. OBJECTIVES:
This program is intended for trainee teachers or active French teachers, who wish to develop their linguistic and pedagogical skills. It encourages you to reflect on your teaching methods and share your ideas and pedagogical experiences with teachers from other cultures. It is designed to get you started with classroom-relevant ideas, educational materials and authentic documents.
COURSE:
Training takes place at Les ateliers FL and includes 20 lessons of general French + 6 lessons of thematic workshops of reflection and exchange in which you will be requested to participate both in writing and orally. It encourages teachers to reflect on their teaching methods and to share teaching ideas and experiences with teachers from other cultures.
ACTIVITIES:
The program is supplemented by cultural activities and discovery of the city and the chosen region (museum visits, city tours, evening outings, excursions).
TRAINING CONTENT: - Themed modules of reflection, exchange and creativity in which participants work on both their written and speaking skills
- Linguistic reinforcement to work on the four key language skills: listening, speaking, writing and reading

"The elderly couple lives in a suburb of Bordeaux, practically without infrastructure. The public transport connection is good. Everything is easy to reach by tram. The couple is very nice, but real contact is not wanted. I was not allowed to go into the kitchen or the living room alone. It was more like a room with meals, but no connection to a host family. Dinner was at 8pm sharp, being in the dining room 10 mins earlier not wanted. The room was small, not lockable and no TV. I felt very controlled and locked in, so after 2 nights I changed to a hotel. Unfortunately, this was very expensive due to the Rugby World Cup and the visit of King Charles. I imagine a host family differently, I have also experienced it more positively with others in the past. Of course it depends on what you have in mind, I wish there was more information beforehand, then I could have made a different decision beforehand. For me personally, it didn't fit."
