Location: Gaia Amazon Spanish School (AGS) is located on the banks of the River Napo, Ahuano, Ecuador, in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest. These spectacular and vibrant surroundings give students a unique background for their Spanish studies, whilst also providing many opportunities to create memorable moments. A short distance from the AmaZOOnica Wildlife Refuge and surrounded by the marvels of the Amazon Rainforest, Gaia Amazon Spanish School offers students an enchanting, mystical and safe setting for their studies.
School facilities: The facilities of AGS are majestic, surrounded by the Amazon Rainforest and created with as minimal impact on the surrounding landscape as possible. Facilities include a kitchen, cafeteria, restaurant, lounge areas and WIFI. All classrooms have ample natural light to create the optimal learning environment, with free water dispensers also available to all.
Accommodation: Due to the remote location of the school, all courses come with accommodation in cabins(shared/individual) and meals included. Many of the programmes also include trips, tours and excursions. All courses focus on Spanish, as well as the local Kichwa language, ensuring a well rounded and special experience.
Additional information: Consisting of a team of young professionals in environmental conservation, engineers, publicists, wildlife experts and teachers, AGS has been supplying unique study and learning opportunities to students for many years. The school has a meditative and nurturing environment, developed from a respect for nature, as well as the culture and wisdom of the local indigenous peoples.

Special note for 2025 holiday season: If you plan to take a course during the high season months of April, June, July or August 2025 we urgently advise you to book as early as possible. In 2024 many schools were fully booked during the holidays, and the situation is unlikely to be different for 2025 due to a current shortage of teachers, which affects most schools.

Comments about courses
A fee of USD 100 per week is added to the weekly course price for an upgrade to a private room accommodation.

If the minimum number of students is not reached, the group lessons will be replaced with 15 hours of private one-on-one lessons.
The prices of the shuttle transfer from Quito to Gaia are USD 35 (one way) and USD 70 (return). From Uio to the jungle is USD 35.
Individual classes
Single individual lessons of tuition can be reserved at 12 US$. The combination of group and individual lessons is highly recommended. Individual lessons will encourage you to actively speak the foreign language and will offer you the opportunity to discuss individual problems and weaknesses.
