Location: Global Village (GV) Hawaii Honolulu is located on the island of Oahu's south shore, in Honolulu, Hawaii's capital city. The school is housed in the heart of Honolulu and is within walking distance of the Ala Moana Beach Park and Magic Island Lagoon. A favourite with locals, this is a great place to go walking, swimming, surfing, people watching, or picnicking. Another exciting attraction is Ala Moana Shopping Center, which is just across the street from Global Village Hawaii. The Center has three food courts, lots of world-class shopping and the main bus terminal to get students easily around town.

Course selection: GV Hawaii provides courses suitable to students of all levels and various ages, with many programmes tailored to include activities that are available locally. Such English plus programmes can include activities such as ukulele, surfing, yoga, fitness and hula! Exam preparation courses are also readily available throughout the year (FCE, CAE), as are Academic programmes (semester/year) and various junior and family courses. English Pro programmes are also available, combining group and private lessons to give students the benefits of both formats of lessons.

Organised activities: The school has a well selected social calendar for students to attend. These are generally planned in three month schedules, with sample calendars available for you to review. A list of potential activities include ukulele lessons, surf lessons, swimming with dolphins, hula lessons, shark cage diving, hiking and many more options.

Quality of teaching / language progress: I didn't like the fact that we repeated some stuff during lessons only because we changed teacher. I had a teacher who wasn't really motivated an I didn't learn much. On the other hand I had one that was really good and brought up really interesting topics! Fortunately he was there!
Other comments I really appreciated the help of Sabine which was my direct reference person and helped me apply for the school.
