English Courses
Adults are welcome to join their themed excursion-based programmes at certain times during the year. With classroom tuition that supports the excursions and lunches in local eateries, these programmes are led by native English-speaking Londoners and are designed to give the students insights into the culture, history and life in London.
In small classes of 8 students, adult students are invited to brush up on their grammar, build their vocabulary and work on their pronunciation. These classes take place in South Kensington in seasonal sessions throughout the year.
The English language camp for children offers opportunities for students to learn English in a natural, relaxed setting. Themes such as "Scientific London" and "London Jungle" are the focus of each week's English language teaching, with excursions to places like the London Zoo or a children's theatre. Scrubbing floors in a Victorian kitchen, flying kites in Hyde Park, and encountering the Mad Hatter are all fun and engaging ways to practise English with Hi-London.
Around themes like "The Thames" and "London Stage", the teen English language courses allow the students to explore London and learn English in real-life situations. Tracing the route of a tea clipper or preparing for a Whodunnit dinner party, the teen students use all of London as their classroom.
A short classroom-based activity before each excursion focuses the teens on the English language skills they will need for that day's activities. They then go off with their teacher to take part in workshops or work with each other on interactive projects. These activities are supported by teaching material that the school has either developed ourselves or have tested extensively with the students.
Placed in a relaxed, natural environment, these teens reach a new level of comfort with the English language. They learn English not only from the teachers and workshop/tour leaders but also from their peers as they travel on the Tube and have lunch in Hyde Park.
