Spanish Courses
This is your chance to improve your Spanish in order to be able to better communicate with people on the job as a law enforcement officer and in your personal life.
Participants will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in the Hispanic culture for 2,3 or 4 weeks and learn how to understand threatening slang to maintain police officer safety and reduce hostile situations, conduct accurate field interviews in Spanish, assure and calm the Spanish speaker in an emergency, and communicate and understand Spanish reducing calls to the language line.
You will be placed in a class with students of a similar ability level. With a maximum of four students per group, your participation is assured and progress guaranteed.
This program offers you a lot of Spanish instruction while still allowing you enough free time for other activities.
Depending on the age of the students, classes are a combination of educational field trips and classroom instruction using many visual and manual aids.
The final decision about class composition will be made in consultation with ILISA’s teaching staff and the parents involved.
This program covers Spanish for everyday use, it provides a solid foundation of the language, and was designed for those teenagers who will be traveling by themselves, with a friend or sibling, etc. (without a pre-formed group). ILISA will supervise the participants and also the host families.
At least 3 excursions will be organized per week including: visit to the Poas Volcano, Central Market, National Museum, coffee plantation, La Paz and more.

The executive Spanish programme is perfect when time is of the essence. Before you leave home they’ll assess your needs and create an individualised program directly tailored to meet them. By the time you arrive in Costa Rica they’ll have a fully developed game plan to maximize your language learning potential.
The morning classes have a maximum of 4 students per group and will focus on Spanish for everyday use. In the afternoon class, special attention will be given to your particular needs and interests.

Spanish classes, on a private One on One basis or in groups of a maximum of 4 students at your level of comprehension, with the best Spanish teachers in Costa Rica. Apart from improving general Spanish skills, intermediate and advanced students will learn words, terms and phrases necessary for education, assessment, intervention, and training of families, clients and colleagues. Beginners will concentrate on developing general language skills.
Visits to local schools, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities and clinics, provide a unique opportunity to get an inside view of a Latin American country’s rehabilitation infrastructure.
Cultural activities such as Latin dance and cooking classes, theater and museum visits, non verbal communication and country specific lectures.
