Location: ILM - Istituto Linguistico Mediterraneo Pisa is an Italian language school located in the Tuscan University town of Pisa, Italy. The school is very central and has numerous links to public transport nearby. There are also several eateries, restaurants and attractions within walking distance. Such sites of interest include Keith haring's mural "Tuttomondo", the Santa Maria della Spina Church, the National Museum of the Royal Palace, the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Botanic Museum and Garden.

Course selection: ILM Pisa offers Italian language programmes to students of all levels and several needs. In addition to General Italian, taught over various schedules and intensities, the school also supplies CELS Exam Preparation, CertIT Preparation, CILS Exam Preparation, Italian with additional subjects such as culture, art history, wine-tasting, cooking and much more. There are also opportunities to have 6 private lessons with your teacher per week, over lunch.

Accommodation: The school can provide accommodation in homestay facilities with local families and shared flats, subject to availability. ILM Pisa can also arrange accommodation in local hotels, many of which are within walking distance of the school.

Social and cultural: ILM Pisa promotes and provides several activities and cultural happenings to students'. Examples of activities include bike rides around the city, tours of the city at night, aperitivos with classmates and teachers, dinners, wine tastings and the occasional football match.

“I liked the location of the school in the centre of Pisa. The teacher was very friendly and open-minded and I really enjoyed the lessons with her because they also built on my level of Italian. The afternoon excursion to Campo dei Miracoli was organised by a very competent art guide.”

Other comments I would have liked more course options. As I only managed to do one half of the placement test and grammatical gaps began to show during the other half, the beginner course was too simple. But the second course that started would have been too difficult. Unfortunately, there was no intermediate level. That was a pitty but maybe it was due to the season or maybe I was just unlucky.
