Student opinions about inlingua, Sliema

Verified reviews only, uncensored. All student opinions from students who booked a course at the school with LanguageCourse.net.
Liked
Incredible class with incredible exchanges. Friendly teacher, adapted to the atmosphere of the class and motivating. Students who come from all over the world (even with the covid), kind and willing to learn more in English and about each other's cultures. Unforgettable moments in class with the students as well as with the teacher! The air conditioning has its place in the classrooms and the rooms are adapted. Clean and very regularly washed premises, a very welcoming and attentive staff.
Disliked
To move up to the next level of English, you must take a language test which is only offered from the 5th week. You cannot change level otherwise without passing this test. For me who stayed only 3 weeks and who did not feel at my level in this class, I was not able to change level and therefore did not progress as I had hoped. I was able to perform a test before my departure to observe my progress but the results are done when we receive our schedule for the following week, and it was my last week. Small lack of organization at this level.

I stayed there just for a week, so speaking practice was the most important for me. MANY thanks to the teacher, for me it was very interesting. I really liked the organization of excursions, they were very interesting and provided a great chance to practice.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss If you are staying there for 2 weeks or less, I think you'd better focus on practical use of the language, and not on grammar.

Other comments Perhaps the school should think about organizing short-term courses for 1-2 weeks where the main focus will be made on practical use of the language and not on learning it, because I think it is impossible to learn something within 1-2 weeks. You should also think about organizing Saturday and even Sunday classes, it would be very convenient for me. WIFI does not work well on the 5th floor, for me it was important, as I could not use the dictionary.

Access to teaching. The beginner has mainly conversations. It is nonsense to grammar from the beginning and this school knows it. It's important to talk and this is what the school really did to help me.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss Go to a Hostel because you will still have to talk to a lot of people and especially go alone. Get away from your native language. That helped me the most.

It's not that good that it doesn't start until 9:00am. 8:30am would be better. Half an hour break is not necessary after the first session. A quarter of an hour would be sufficient. Only at lunchtime are 30 minutes ok.

Questions and answers about inlingua

  • We cannot gaurantee that they will charge you for the book, if you are there for just 1 week. It may create an awkward situation for the school in relation to other students, and if they did it for one they would then have to do it for all, which is not their policy.

However, we can put a note in our online application form and ask the school, but as I mentioned before, we cannot guarantee that they will accept.
Antonio, Area Manager from LCN - May 06, 2022
  • Regarding the timetable, please note that the lessons times will possibly alter from week to week. That means, we can't assure the student of the morning or afternoon lesson because it depends on the online test results and the availability.
