How we create the points regarding what we like/dislike about a school

Location: International House Oaxaca is located in the historic city of Oaxaca, Mexico. Housed in a 16th Century colonial building in the city centre, the school is close to several resturants, shops, gardens, art galleries and attractions such as the Andador Turístico, Zócalo Oaxaca, the Templo de Santo Domingo de Guzmán, the Mercado Benito Juárez, Plaza Santa Domingo and much more.

Course selection: IH Oaxaca provides various courses for learning Spanish, suitable to students of all levels and various necessities. In addition to General Spanish programmes, the school also provides lessons in Business Spanish, Medical Spanish, Mexican Cooking and Latin Dancing. There are also Discover Mexico programmes that allow students to discover the cultural wonders of Oaxaca whilst learning Spanish.

Getting around: The school is housed in downtown Oaxaca, with many of the city's main attractions within walking distance. One of the best ways to get around the city is therefore by foot, yet buses and taxis are also readily available, although they are not known for their efficiency.

Social and Cultural: IH Oaxaca provides several options for social activities, including dancing and cooking classes.

Accommodation: The school offers accommodation in Homestay, Student Residence, Furnished Apartments and On-site Apartments, catering to the needs of all students.

Additional information: Oaxaca city is unique in its surroundings, located amongst mountains and home to a vast amount of archaeological sites. The city has a rich culture, with over 16 different ethnicities.

What is included in the Intensive course price:

  • Registration.

    The week starting 03 Apr includes two public holidays, therefore this week will have a special price of USD 145.

    In case there is only one student at a given level in a given week, that student will take 10 private hours instead of the original 20 with no extra cost.

Course material
Generally course material has to be purchased by the student. The costs of course material will be approximately 60 US$ per course level.
Individual classes
Single individual lessons of tuition can be reserved at 30 US$. The combination of group and individual lessons is highly recommended. Individual lessons will encourage you to actively speak the foreign language and will offer you the opportunity to discuss individual problems and weaknesses.

Quality of teaching / language progress: Staying at the adjacent hotel was a huge plus. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. If rooms are available I recommend this accommodation to future students.
