Location: The programmes take place in Campbell College, a mixed boarding school on the outskirts of the capital city of Northern Ireland. International House Young Learners Centre is east of Belfast, in a quiet residential area, close to Belmont Park. The nearest highstreet is in Strandtown, where students can frequent small local cafes and convenience stores.
Getting around: Strandtown is a 30-minute walk from the school, or students can use the local bus to reach the highstreet in less than 15 minutes. To the centre of Belfast, there are a number of bus routes that go from the bus stop outside the school. Belfast International Airport is a 40-minute car ride from International House Young Learners Centre, whilst the George Best Belfast City Airport is 7-minute drive.
Course structure: Students will learn and stay at Campbell College. The package includes English lessons, 1 full day excursion, 5 half day excursions, full board accommodation, return transfers and certificate on completion.
Teaching methodology: The teaching style at International House Young Learners Centre is the communicative approach which focuses on the local lingo of the area so that students can practise this in real life situations outside the classroom.
Special Features: C.S Lewis, the author of The Chronicles of Narnia, went to Campbell College and is said to have been inspired by the grounds.
School Chain: International House Belfast was formed in 2007. It is accredited by the British Council as well as members of English UK and MEI Relsa. Accredited by the Green Standard Schools for its contribution to sustainability. The chain is a certified Cambridge ESOL Examination and Teacher Training centre. They hold English courses for both adults and juniors.

Special note for 2025 holiday season: If you plan to take a course during the high season months of April, June, July or August 2025 we urgently advise you to book as early as possible. In 2024 many schools were fully booked during the holidays, and the situation is unlikely to be different for 2025 due to a current shortage of teachers, which affects most schools.
