What we dislike about the school
- Average age of students is a bit higher than at most schools. Great for students 25 years or older.
- Nationality mix could be more balanced. 40 of students are from Turkey
- Cancellation fees if visa is rejected.
Location: International Language School Aarau is located in the historic Swiss town of Aarau, the capital of the northern Swiss canton of Aargau. The school is in the centre of Aarau, close to many amenities, eateries, restaurants, the River Aare and several attractions. Such attractions and sites of interest within walking distance of the school include Aarau Altstadt, Aargauer Kunsthaus, many historical landmarks and more.
Course selection: The school offers a wide range of courses in many languages, including German, English, French, Japanese, Chinese, Russian, Italian, Arabic and more.
In addition to General German courses taught over various schedules and intensities, the school also provides Telc and Goethe Exam Preparation programmes, Conversation classes and private tuition. Private, two-to-one, and three-to-one tuition are also available to junior students throughout the year, as are Junior day camps during various public school holidays. English courses include Cambridge Exam Preparation programmes, private tuition, and junior camps during holiday periods. Various French programmes are also available throughout the year, in addition to DELF/DALF Exam Preparation courses.
Getting around: International Language School Aarau is a short 7-minute walk from the central train station, allowing travel to destinations such as Zurich and Bern within a 60-minute journey of the school's front doors. The school is also within walking distance of many high street shops, eateries, and sites such as the River Aare and several green spaces.
