Location: Kingsbrook Spanish School in Barcelona offers an immersive experience to students wanting to learn Spanish. Complete with a staff of native and experienced teachers, proximity to Barcelona’s bustling culture and a diverse class of students, the Kingsbrook Spanish School optimises learning.
School facilities: The school is up-to-date with the latest technology and encourages interactive learning in the classroom. Average class size is limited to 8 students ensuring personalised attention.
Course structure: The curriculum is designed by Kingsbrook’s certified staff and aimed at catering to different levels keeping with the European regulations for foreign language learning. The school also offers Plus courses that integrate group learning with dedicated one-to-one sessions which are flexible and personalised for each student’s needs. Kingsbrook is also the official SIELE exam centre. They offer an intensive DELE Exam course although the school’s regular courses are DELE examination ready.
Getting around: Additionally, the school is only minutes away from places like the Avenida Diagonal, Paseo De Gracia and only a walk away from the famous La Pedrera. Being well connected through public transport makes Kingsbrook Spanish School a learning plus holiday destination for foreign students.

The 20-hour-per-week Intensive Spanish course follows the tried and tested model of working on the main pillars of language learning: grammar & vocabulary, speaking, listening, and writing.
This school believes that particular importance should be given to communication skills when studying Spanish, as a student’s confidence in their abilities is a large factor in how much they will use and therefore expand their skills.
There are groups at all official ability levels (from A1 to C2), and you will be assigned to a group that most closely corresponds with where your Spanish language skills currently are (this can be changed later if necessary).
Most of your classes will take place in the classroom, but you can also expect to be taken out as a group around Barcelona from time to time, as a way of making the learning experience more fun and dynamic.

In 2024 many schools were fully booked during the holidays and the situation is unlikely to be different for 2025 due to a current shortage of teachers, which affects most schools.

Other comments I am a rarity as a student at Kingsbrook, of this I am aware; hence my comments may not be valid for the majority of students in their 20/30s and at the very least bilingual. I am a mature Australian TEFL teacher and I only speak English with no learning of any Latin language. I enrolled in Beginners assuming that it was for students with ZERO Spanish. However, as the teacher, who was very nice and enthusiastic, never spoke any English at all, she did actions to identify what was required even when it was obvious myself and two other students, one who was tearful on two occasions, had no understanding of what was expected. The second week our teacher changed to Marta (Marina) who adapted her lessons according to our abilities, which is commonsense. I found my learning the second week was excellent and value for the money paid. The class asked questions and interaction was very good. I am very disappointed I did not have Marta for the first week , as she took time to explain in whatever way worked and even a new student was interactive.
Estella, the first teacher is very talented but more suited to confident students, she lacks the understanding of what students feel if they constantly do not understand.
As a TEFL teacher, I would not have any students if I did not use a work around to ensure my students understood what was required.

"My house is located about a 7-minute walk from the train station. The rooms are nicely furnished, in a slightly unique European antique style, and the host mother offered me a home-cooked Spanish meal. However, as dinner time in Europe is quite late, you have to adjust your time."
