A designated UNESCO World Heritage site, the city abounds with stunning architecture, culture and beautiful views. Located in the heart of Antigua Guatemala, the school is surrounded by local markets, eateries and attractions. The Choco Museum, The Colonial Art Museum and many historical landmarks, are all within walking distance, ensuring students have a memorable time, whilst studying at La Unión Spanish School.
Course selection: Course selection includes General Spanish courses, available over various schedules and intensities, all year round. Private lessons are also available in combination with a group course or independently.
Social and Cultural: The school offers a vast amount of activities that immerse students in both the Spanish language and the Guatemalan culture. Activities can include making chocolate, weaving, hikes, bike rides, Mayan customs and traditions, Volcano tours and much more!
Accommodation: Accommodation with local families and local volunteering programmes can be taken in conjunction with language courses and are available through the school.

The school recommends this option if you are looking for a complete immersion experience where you will have the opportunity to share the language, gastronomy and culture with a local family.
This option is good if it is more important for you to be in the center of Antigua at walking distance from the School and you do not mind sharing the house with other international students.
For students wishing to quickly enhance their Spanish and learn more about Guatemalan culture, lodging with a Guatemalan family is recommended.
The students receive lodging in a private room, including 3 meals daily Monday through Saturday (vegetarian and vegan meals can be arranged), with a hot shower, shared bathroom and purified water.
Families welcome their guests with pride, integrating them into their daily activities, sharing their culture, and making them feel a part of their household. This option allows the student to share with family members in their daily activities and enjoy the customs and traditions of Guatemala.

The school recommends this option if you are looking for a complete immersion experience where you will have the opportunity to share the language, gastronomy and culture with a local family.
This option is the best if you want to know what an authentic family life is like in Guatemala and you want a real immersion experience. The families are located in a nearby village (10 minutes by bus from Antigua), the neighborhood is really friendly and lively and families are usually larger.
For students wishing to quickly enhance their Spanish and learn more about Guatemalan culture, lodging with a Guatemalan family is recommended.
The students receive lodging in a private room, including 3 meals daily Monday through Saturday (vegetarian and vegan meals can be arranged), with a hot shower, shared bathroom and purified water.
Families welcome their guests with pride, integrating them in their daily activities, sharing their culture, and making them feel a part of their household. This option allows the student to share with family members in their daily activities and enjoy the customs and traditions of Guatemala.
