Location: NSTS Malta is a English language school in Gzira on the island of Malta. The top attractions to visit in Gzira are found on Manoel Island, which is a 15 minute walk from the school building. On the island students can see Fort Manoel, with its Baroque architecture style, the Lazarett Hospital, originally used to quarantine patients at the port and is comprised of various building, Luna Park, a fun fair open in the summer months and last, but by no means least, the duck village, which was set up by a local who helps provide a sanctuary for the local birds. Gzira is a central spot within the island of Malta and the perfect base for day trips to the other cities. Gzira is next to the city of Sliema, which is known for its hectic nightlife and its ferry service, and only 15 minutes by public transport from the other popular destinations of St Julians and Msida. For those wanting to unwind on a beach, then the highly rated Maltese beach, the Golden Bay, to the North of the island is just over an hour away by public transport, making it accessible for a day trip. Gzira has plenty of bars and restaurants around to taste the local cuisine and a great waterfront promenade to see the views of the Manoel island and the yacht marina. Around NSTS Malta, there are a number of local stores and eateries as well as a bus stop to the centre of the town.

Teaching Style: NSTS Malta was founded over 50 years ago and has a lot of experience in teaching the English language to foreign students. The school follows a Holistic approach to teaching, which concentrates on the whole experience of the individual to ensure that all aspects are taken into consideration for an ultimate learning experience. This is accomplished through an interactive programme combining the Maltese culture with a highly engaging curriculum.

Course structure: There are a great selection of courses on offer at NSTS for adults, teens and youths. Adults can choose from a selection of general courses or branch out into a specific field such as using the English language in a Business environment, IELTS or Cambridge exam preparation courses, Teacher training or refreshers courses and there is an excellent programme for students over the age of 50 which includes accommodation and activities. During the summer months the school opens its doors to junior students with an array of programmes on offer split into two age groups: kids (10-13 years) and teens (14-17 years). All the junior programmes offer lessons and activities and students can choose to stay in accommodation provided by the school in a camp environment or just take part in the daily classes and after class recreation.

NSTS Malta (NSTS)

“NSTS was the first English for Foreigners Language School to start operating in Malta way back in 1963. Since then NSTS has been committed to helping learners improve their knowledge and understanding of the English Language as well as building their confidence in expressing themselves.  Being also a CELTA (Cambridge English Language Teaching to Adults) centre/provider we have also trained most of the CELTA qualified teachers on the island. Throughout the various courses we provide, all four language skills are addressed, and our approach is practical and experiential. We encourage experimentation and reflection in order to help learners express themselves in a way which is most natural, so as to build their confidence. Whilst looking forward to welcoming learners who choose to take further courses with us we also encourage them to develop study skills which will help them to continue the learning process, both inside and outside the classroom.”
