The school states that Orbetello is a small town, close to Rome, Siena, Pisa and Florence. It has enchanting beaches, a safe environment and offers an ideal atmosphere for learning Italian.
Location: OrbitLingua Orbetello is located in the unique community of Orbetello, in the province of Grosetto, Tuscany, Italy. Housed in a residential area of the picturesque town of Orbetello, the school offers a holiday study experience on the Tuscan coast. Beaches, historical towns and the Tombolo della Feniglia e della Giannella are all close by. Within walking distance of the school are local stores, local fishmongers, eateries, supermarkets, shopping malls and green spaces (parks). The Laguna di Orbetello is a popular walking route that is just a moment's from the school's front doors. There are opportunities to reach Rome, Florence, Pisa and Siena within 2 hours.
Course selection: In addition to General Italian taught to all levels, over several schedules and intensities, OrbitLingua also provides fully immersive summer courses for juniors (13-17 years of age) and combination programmes of private tuition and tuition taught in groups. Senior programmes with activities and excursions are also available at various times throughout the year. Private tuition can be taken independently or in conjunction with any other programme.
Social and cultural: The school has an active social calendar for students to enjoy. Activities can include day excursions to the Island of Giglio by boat, night-time excursions to the waterfall of Saturnia, and international dinners in the school garden.

“Basically, I liked everything: All the "teachers" were very very friendly. The lessons were conducted with a lot of fun, humour and funny pantomime. Every question was answered in detail. Our teachers, Chistina and Thomaso, were very patient and really focussed on each individual "student". We learnt a lot - I am very, very satisfied. "I understood why my request for accommodation in a host family with half board could not be satisfied (disinfection of interns and host families due to Covid + period of the year when there are many teenagers and few adults registered for the courses). I very much appreciated the honesty of Marco and Véronique when they explained the situation to me and proposed an alternative, which I accepted. However, following our emails, I understood that I could have contact with my host, a young Italian, even if it was a shared apartment and not a host family. My host works a lot during the summer period, so I had very little contact with him, which was a shame. Thank you all, good luck, MD"

"The hostess was very nice and helpful and gave me lots of tips for excursions (depending on the weather). The room was very small, the flat very clean. The food was simple but very tasty. It was a pity that I was not allowed to use the fridge/kitchen and that there was no possibility to do laundry (at least I could wash the bath towel and the nightgown with the weekly bed linen change). But I knew that beforehand."

I would like to know if this junior programme would be suitable for my grandson who will be 15 in July, he would start as an almost beginner. What do you recommend and for how long and if there was a possibility of staying with family.
“The Junior programme offered by the school is undoubtedly very good and through various activities, excursions and more, it stimulates interaction among the children encouraging a continuous exchange and thus the gradual and non-stressful learning of the basics of Italian. To get the maximum benefit from the programme I recommend at least 4 weeks but even 2 weeks may be sufficient to start gradually with language learning.
The course takes place with fixed dates and has a minimum duration of 2 weeks, accessible to all levels from beginner (A1) to Advanced (C2), accommodation is always with a family as it is mandatory for minors, as well as ensuring constant supervision of the children.”
