What we like about the school
  • beautiful historic building
  • classrooms with interactive whiteboards
What we dislike about the school
  • Lessons are 45 minutes long, which is shorter than in other schools.
  • Additional costs of course material of approx. 70 £ per course level
How we create the points regarding what we like/dislike about a school

Location: The school is situated on the main road running through Hove, just on the border between Hove and Brighton. Hove is an upmarket area, with a more tranquil feel than its bustling city neighbour, with lawns stretching along the cobbled beaches. That being said, the street that the school is on is filled with commercial eateries, shops and bars.

Getting around: The centre of Brighton is 25 minutes by foot from the school door. There is also a regular bus service that takes around 5 minutes to get to the edge of the city centre. In comparison, Hove is an 11-minute walk from Oxford International Brighton. Brighton Railway Station has a direct service to London, which takes around an hour. From the school, the train station is 20 minutes away.

Seeing the sights: The beach with its colourful beach huts and long pier is often a highlight for those visiting the city. This is 20 minutes away from the school by bus, a pleasant 30 minute stroll along the seafront. The Royal Pavilion and Brighton Museum & Art Gallery are centrally located within the city centre, so about 25 minutes by foot from Oxford International Education.

Courses: General English courses are taught in the morning or the afternoon, and are available in a range of intensities. An exam preparation course for the IELTS exam is taught at the school. In the summer holiday months Oxford International Education provides young learners with a package course, which is arranged through the school, but generally takes place in another location.

School extras: The school building has free wifi throughout and there is a social room and a computer room for students to use outside lessons. There is a university counselling service available for those who want to further their education.

School chain: Oxford International is a world-renowned educational provider with many language schools throughout Europe, North America and the United Kingdom. The schools are all equipped to teach the English language in a range of options that covers a wide spectrum of student’s learning needs. For those wanting to further their education, Oxford International Education partners with a number of universities in the UK and Europe.
  • Oxford International Education operated previously under the name ISIS.
  • The language school Oxford International Education was founded in Brighton, England UK in 1997.
  • Legal name / parent company: Oxford International Education & Travel Ltd
