What we dislike about the school
- Average age of students is a bit higher than at most schools. Great for students 25 years or older.
- Cancellation fees if visa is rejected.
Location: Russian Language Academy is located in the beautiful city of Riga, Latvia. Coastal to the Baltic Sea, at the mouth of the River Daugava, Riga is renowned for its Art Nouveau architecture, concert halls, museums and wooden buildings. Situated within walking distance of the Museum of Natural History and Science, The 19th Century National Opera Theatre, Vērmane Garden and much more. Russian Language Academy is in a fantastic location for students to enjoy their time in Riga to its fullest.
School facilities: The school's facilities include an auditorium, library, kitchen for student use, lounge area and free after-class access to language learning software. A Student Support Desk is also available for any questions or queries that students may have. All classrooms have air-conditioning, heating and ample natural light to create the optimal learning environment.
Course selection: The course selection from the school is extensive and includes Russian Literature, Russian Music, TRKI and TELC Preparation programmes and Teacher Development programmes. Private or Mini Group courses are also available as well as Immersion Crash courses. The school would ask that all students have some knowledge of the Cyrillic alphabet before starting their course.
Accommodation: Russian Language Academy has options for accommodation in Homestay, Shared Flats, Hotel, Residences and Private Apartments, available throughout the year.
Social and Cultural: A 15-minute walk from the UNESCO World Heritage site of Riga's Old Town, Russian Language Academy is well equipped to assist students in reaching their language goals whilst enjoying the beauties that the city has to offer.

Special note for 2025 holiday season: If you plan to take a course during the high season months of April, June, July or August 2025 we urgently advise you to book as early as possible. In 2024 many schools were fully booked during the holidays, and the situation is unlikely to be different for 2025 due to a current shortage of teachers, which affects most schools.

Prices include: tuition, assessment test, teaching materials for one level, course certificate, guided group city-tour on Monday for Riga, free Wi-Fi, extra up to 5 hours per week of self-studies. Individual courses include Needs Analysis.
Internship (should be paid together with course fees): EUR 250.

- Visit Rundale Palace. After the Rundale Palace students will set out to explore Bauska Castle (15-17 centuries). Price is EUR 40-60 per person, depending on the amount of students.
- Visit the most beautiful district of Riga and enjoy the architectural heritage of Art Nouveau. The route will run through the parks of the 19th century - Vermanes darzs and Esplanade. Students will visit the impressive Cathedral of Christ and Alberta street. Price is EUR 5 per person.
