Student opinions about San Sebastián Escuela Internacional, San Sebastian

Liked
The director did an excellent job at making everybody feel comfortable and motivating students to take the study aspect seriously (Homework! I had not done that since I was at college!). It was very nice to have two different teachers on the same day with very different temperaments and methods.
Disliked
The classrooms are a little too small.

Other comments Apart from the unbelievable city - San-Sebastian (which i can tell not only according to me but also by discussing Spanish towns with other students who have much more experience than i do) is the most beautiful and amazing city in the whole country. Lacunza is a nice place for people who honestly want to improve their language skills and at the same time to have an amazing summer vacation!

Questions and answers about San Sebastián Escuela Internacional

  • We offer the students residence (with private bed- and bathroom) but there is no kitchen available. Based on preferred dates, we can send you more information about the options available. Please let us know what your desired dates are and we will be happy to assist you!
Maria, from San Sebastián Escuela Internacional7 - Mar 18, 2022
  • The Intensive 30 senior course is a combination of group classes mixed with other same level international students of all ages/nationalities AND mini group classes for students more than 50 years old with a programme focused on culture and gastronomy. You can take how many weeks you want.
    Robin Rebecca Pietersma, LanguageCourse.Net - Aug 16, 2023
  • No, shared flat accommodation means you live either with international students or with a local resident. The big difference with a host family is that you provide your own meals and may use the kitchen. If your preference is to live with international students, please indicate this in the comments during booking, so we can try to make this happen.
Maria, Administration from Lacunza - Sep 13, 2023

FAQ about San Sebastián Escuela Internacional,

  • First, they have dinner together. We encourage students to talk to the host family and tell them their preferences about food and also activities. Sometimes they go for a walk along the sea or city, sometimes they go for ice cream, sometimes they watch a movie or play games. Sometimes they study together. Please note that most of our host families work during the day and therefore have to take care of the household in the evening as well. After dinner there is no planned programme, it depends on the family and also on the student.
Maria, from San Sebastián Escuela Internacional - Feb 18, 2022
  • The student should adapt to the plans of the family. They could have a trip to the beach, the mountains or to other villages/cities. Some host families take the students to France (just 30 minutes from San Sebastián).
Maria, from San Sebastián Escuela Internacional - Feb 18, 2022
  • At least 10 days before arrival we send the host family details with address, email, and phone number. All students must contact the family before arrival with their arrival time. They can book a transfer service from the airport or directly go to the host family.
Maria, from San Sebastián Escuela Internacional - Feb 18, 2022
  • Everything is included in the programme, but we recommend the students to bring no more than 70€ - 80€ per week for snacks, souvenirs, or shopping.
Maria, from San Sebastián Escuela Internacional - Feb 18, 2022
  • Excursions on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoons, as well as the Saturday excursion, are included in the programme.
If students do trips to museums/cinemas/restaurants or similar with the host family, they should pay on their own, unless the host family says otherwise.
Maria, from San Sebastián Escuela Internacional - Feb 18, 2022
  • Yes, that is correct!
Robin Rebecca Pietersma, Language Travel Consultant from LanguageCourse.Net - Aug 18, 2023
  • San Sebastián Escuela Internacional offers courses from 14 years (Junior Summer Course - Double Room , 20 lessons per week) to 99. Average age is 22 during the summer and 28 for the rest of the year.
