Student opinions about Spanish in Cadiz, Cadiz

Liked
I was at this school for three weeks and it was the perfect length of time for me to improve my language skills. I really enjoyed the well organized and planned grammar classes (Muchas gracias a mi super profesor Lolo), and greatly improved my understanding of grammatical structures and rules. The teacher presented the class with weekly summary charts that were concise, informative and easy to understand, consolidating knowledge and linking it to previously learned knowledge. My conversation teacher, Concha, was good... teaching style seemed fluid / relaxed and sometimes was linked to the grammar learned earlier in the day, sometimes based on events and student interests. I expanded my vocabulary and learned some fun colloquial phrases that I will use often in future conversations. The school organized tours were amazing (wine tour, tapas, and historical tours). I liked that the weekly activities were summarized and always available via QR codes. I liked the school cloth tote bag that was gifted to us, I used it daily, it was really practical for carrying groceries, school workbook, etc. The workbook is excellent, has useful relevant information and lots of practice exercises. It is included in the class fees which is really good. The campus is amazing, beautiful large classroom, top notch technology, nice front garden with shaded comfortable chairs and a back yard lounge and learning area with large table and a coffee machine. Perfect! Kudos to the entire SIC administration and teachers for a wonderful learning experience in a clean beautiful learning space.
Disliked
I would have preferred that the weekly activities and excursions be presented during the pause or during lunch time rather than taking up class time.

Quality of teaching / language progress: Fantastic experience, I was in a B1 group and we were almost all 50+ learners, lots in common, good times exploring the city together.
Other comments Wonderful school, I was impressed by the administration and my grammar teacher.

- Very friendly Spanish teachers. - Lessons in the A1+ course have brought me to a much higher level within 2 weeks. I now feel confident in most situations when talking to strangers. - Leisure programme is also very good for the most part and there are also free events. - Teachers are responsive to wishes, learning goals and interests. - Good group sizes (4-7)
Disliked
- Some leisure activities were expensive. But you don't have to do everything. - It would be a good idea if there were some leisure activities on Mondays or Tuesdays (e.g. tapas evening / lunch together / ...), so that you could get to know the people from your own course and from other courses better. - Unfortunately, there were few students my age (25) during my week. - Many were pensioners or only 16

Quality of teaching / language progress: The course is the same as the Standard course, except that it starts at 9 am instead of 9:45 am. This allows specific topics to be practised in the first hour, sometimes in a smaller group, as others in the course had only booked Standard.

I liked it very much. The school management and the teachers were very friendly. The lessons in these short 2 weeks were very informative for me and helped me to refresh my knowledge. The teachers (Concha and Carmen) are very attentive to the students and the situation in class, and they have a good sense of humour. I think that's great. I would return again!
Disliked
Unfortunately, there was a public holiday in each of these 2 weeks: no school. But that's not the school's fault!

Quality of teaching / language progress: I honestly don't understand the difference between 50+ and another course. Is it the price? I was in class with 4 young people. I don't mind at all, I love young people. But there are many who think they are only in class with older people.
Other comments It's a beautiful, interesting city and you can get to the sea in no time. However, if someone is looking for more greenery nearby, I would not recommend this city.

The teachers are very good and adapt to the pace of the students. At the same time, they demand enough to progress. In general, the atmosphere at the school was great. Huge thanks to Lolo, Bojar, Paloma and Concha, as well as Ina and JuanMa. Alejandro and Luis always have an open ear for problems, information, etc. outside the school.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss There are also individual lessons after school, which are very useful for actually solving your own problems with the language or if you simply want to have 1 hour individually. Highly recommended.
