Location: Speakable Rome is located in the unique and historically immense city of Rome, the capital city of Italy. Speakable is housed in the district of Appio Latino on the outskirts of the city centre and has many amenities, restaurants, local shops and sites of interest nearby. Within walking distance of the school are several attractions, such as the Basilica di San Giovanni, Roman tombs and Christian catacombs, in addition to the Via Sannio Market and the Porta Latina. Green spaces such as the Parco dell'Appia Antica and Villa Lazzaroni are also just a short walk from the school's front doors.
Getting around: The school is within walking distance of the Furio Camillo subway station and has many attractions and sites of interest close by. The city centre of Rome is within a 25-minute train journey of the school, ensuring the city centre and its attractions are never far away. The area of Appio Latino, Rome's 9th quarter, has many bike paths that students can enjoy.
Social and Cultural: Rome is one of, if not the most infamous European city for its culture and history. Many of the city's most popular and significant sites, such as the Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, the Roman Forum, the Colosseum and the Castel Sant'Angelo, are all within a 30-40 minute train ride of the school. The school also organises many excursions to the city centre, in addition to providing evening social activities such as karaoke and evenings of free conversation.
