Venue: The St Giles International London Junior Centre is housed at University College London. Classes are held on the UCL campus near The British Museum and Russell Square. UCL is just north of London’s famous Soho neighbourhood and Chinatown and there are several other museums in the surrounding area. It is also very close to the immense British Library.

The programme: The London programme of St Giles International Junior Centre offers students a chance to experience student life in London. In addition to the 20 English lessons per week, students have a full programme of social activities, and excursions. Two half-day excursions in London and at least one full-day excursion each week to nearby cities such as Brighton, Oxford, Kingston-Upon-Thames, or within the city of London itself.

English Plus: The St Giles International London Junior Centre, as with all of their junior centres, offer students the opportunity to participate in one of their English Plus Options. These are programmes of additional activities which students can opt for upon arrival, at no extra cost. They vary depending on the location and can be educational such as their Exam Skills Option, their University Studies Taster Option, or their Creative Writing & Speaking Option; or the artistic Performing Arts Option; or optional sports such as fencing or tennis.

Accommodation: St Giles International Junior Centre residential students in London are housed in Ramsay Hall, a residence owned by the University of London, near Regent’s Park. The distance between the residence and classes takes about 15 minutes to walk. Students have single rooms at the residence with shared bathroom, and take their meals at the onsite cafeteria.

Visa Documents

Nationals from USA do not require a visa to study short term courses up to 180 days. A valid passport and an ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) is required to enter the UK. The application for the ETA is done online https://www.gov.uk/guidance/apply-for-an-electronic-travel-authorisation-eta. The answer is expected within 3 working days, costing GBP 10. The ETA allows multiple entries in the country for up to 6 months for a maximum of 2 years or until the passport used when applying expires.
