Location: YCODE Russian Language School Sochi is a language and culture school located in the diverse city of Sochi, which borders the black sea in southern Russia. The school is housed in the city centre, a short distance from eateries, commercial shopping complexes, green spaces, links to public transport, and various attractions and sites of interest. Such attractions within walking distance of the school include the Bol'shoy Sochinskiy Del'finariy, Morskaya Naberezhnaya Tsentral'noy Chasti Sochi, the Grand Marina Gallery and Ploshchad' Flaga. The Sochi National Park is within a 25-minute bus journey of the school.

Social and cultural: The school offers students a wide range of excursions, such as walking tours around the city, Stalin Kuntsevo Dacha and architecture, and the Olympic legacy. Speaking clubs are also regularly available at the weekends, giving students a fantastic means to practise what they have learned throughout the week.

Course selection: The school teaches both Russian and English language courses in addition to several other subjects such as Math, Culture, and Engineering. The Russian courses are available to students of all levels and ages (4 years +), over several schedules and intensities. Individual, one-to-one, tuition is available in conjunction with any other programme or independently.

Accommodation: YCODE Russian Language School regularly supplies accommodation to students in local homestay families and private apartment facilities.

Other comments I would recommend YCODE to any student that wants to learn Russian. The teachers, especially my teacher (Ekaterina) are more than friendly and able to teach you the Russian language.

“I arrived and the teacher gave me a few hours to catch up with the level of the group, which had been in place for two months. Fortunately, I'd been taking lessons on the internet. Then I joined the group. The lessons were given in English, so it was very difficult to understand, it was a mess and I was very disappointed. I left before. I wouldn't recommend it at all.”

Comments about courses

For US citizens: you can get a visa for a 6-month stay in Russia. For every other country, a maximum of 12 weeks is possible.

On August 19, 2024, the President of the Russian Federation signed Decree No. 702 “On the provision of humanitarian support to persons who share traditional Russian spiritual and moral values”, regulating the process of submitting documents for a temporary residence permit in the Russian Federation in a simplified manner.

Single individual lessons of tuition can be reserved at 1800 RUB. The combination of group and individual lessons is highly recommended. Individual lessons will encourage you to actively speak the foreign language and will offer you the opportunity to discuss individual problems and weaknesses.
