Towards the South West of Italy, lies the region of Campania. The provincial capital city of Naples, also the largest city in the south of the country, rests on the western coast of Campania. Here you can see the Naples National Archaeological Museum, Castel Nuovo and Ovo Castle. Naples is close to Mount Vesuvius, an active volcano, which has excellent hiking trails and interesting history with the region. The Gulf of Naples has a spectacular coastline with interesting sights including the Blue Grotto and the little island of Procida.
