Galicia, the North West region of Spain, sits above Portugal. It shares its coastline with the Cantabrian Sea, in the North, and the North Atlantic Ocean, to the West. The region is renowned for being the resting place of the Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela. This is the final destination of the famous pilgrimage route, the Camino de Santiago. It is found in the regions capital city, Santiago. Along the coast of the region, visitors frequent Cape Finisterre, Cíes Islands and As Catedrais beach. In Galicia, it is possible to see some remnants of the Roman Era such as the Roman walls of Lugo and the Tower of Hercules in A Coruña.
