To the North West of Germany is the state of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is nestled beside Germany's two western neighbours: Belgium and The Netherlands. Düsseldorf is the region's capital city and is popular for the shopping street of Königsallee. Another prominent city in the state is Cologne, with its spectacular twin-spired Cathedral. North Rhine-Westphalia is one-third forest and has many nature reserves throughout the state. Eifel National Park was the region's first and is part of the cross border Belgium park, High Fens - Eifel Nature Park.
