The state of Queensland covers the North West of Australia. The majority of the province's activity lies along its coast. It is home to the Great Barrier Reef, which stretches halfway down it's shoreline. Cairns is the most popular city to explore the reef and is also close to the Daintree Tropical Rainforest. Queensland's largest city and also the provincial capital, is Brisbane. The city rests to the South of the region and has fantastic river walks, a beautiful botanical garden and spectacular views from Mount Coot-tha. For a beach break from city life, the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast are both accessible from Brisbane.
