Resting on the border of both the Czech Republic and Poland is the eastern German state of Saxony. The region's capital city is Dresden, which sits to the bottom of the region, close to the Czech Republic. Points of interest in the city are the Dresden Castle, Frauenkirche Dresden and Semperoper Dresden. Dresden's most significant attraction is the Zwinger building, whose art gallery holds Raphael’s Sistine Madonna. Close to the city is the rock formation Bastei, found in the Saxon Switzerland National Park. The state is also home to the Königstein Fortress and Moritzburg Castle.
