To the West of the capital city is the smaller city of Pisa which is famous for its landmark, Leaning Tower of Pisa. The region has very fertile land, particularly around the mountainous area of Chianti, which has excellent vineyards and olive groves. The region also includes the small island of Elba, which has fantastic beaches.
