The school organises activities on free afternoons (subject to extra fees).The autumn of Kyoto is a wonderful season for experiencing the wonderful scenery of Kamogawa, shrine and temples, shrouded in the vivid colours of the autumn leaves.
Kyoto is stunning at this time of year, and the changing colors of the fall leaves reach the north of the country before the rest of Japan. Reds, yellows and greens weave together in a beautiful vivid display that you can enjoy within the city of Kyoto itself, or through exploring the local countryside. This October, you can enjoy studying Japanese in a refreshing and comfortable climate, find the space to focus on your studies and enjoy the many delicacies that Kyoto has to offer in the autumn season.
The way in which tradition and modernity, and city and nature are interwoven are said to be characteristic of Kyoto.
In the autumn, many visitors can relax while touring the temples, shrines and Kamogawa River shrouded with the rich colours of autumn foliage.

Summer is the best season in Kyoto so come and study Japanese and experience Japanese culture this year! Kyoto JaLS has prepared a summer course for those who are searching for a fun summer programme.
In addition to taking 15 lessons of Japanese a week, 2 cultural lessons and 3 activities a week.
Kyoto has many exciting events such as the Gion festival, Gozan Okuribi, and other traditional festivals held in various places during the summer.
Preparation begins months in advance of the Gion Festival, which starts with the Gion music performance.
Kyoto comes alive with a variety of events in the summer. On the terrace called “Yuka(Floor)” which is built along the Kamogawa River, you can enjoy your meal while feeling the cool waterside breeze.
Kyoto summers tend to be hot, which makes traditional ways of avoiding the heat all the more enjoyable!

Culture courses are unavailable during seasonal course periods.This package includes the Standard Course with 15 lessons of Japanese a week, plus 4 hours of culture lessons a week. The Standard Course takes place in the mornings, from Monday to Friday. The culture lessons take place on two days a week, for example on Monday and Friday afternoon, between 13:30 - 15:20 hours.
Culture includes Tea Ceremony, Calligraphy, Kimono, Japanese Food, Japanese garden, Visit to a shrine and so on. Even if you take this course for a month, you can take different classes every time. Teachers will kindly take you through, so you can join no matter the level of your Japanese.
