A Door to Italy

Quality of the teachers
I sometimes found the classrooms noisy due to the close proximity of a main road and due to the acoustics of the classrooms as well. It was especially disturbing during the 1-on-1 conversations or listening exercises. Floor covering, as a simple carpet, could be a solution for this.

A Door to Italy

Enthusiastic teachers and a great atmosphere
I had a great time at The Door to Italy language school. The tutors were all very nice and helpful and used a wide variety of teaching methods. I felt that I made great progress in the 4 weeks of lessons and would not hesitate to go back.

A Door to Italy

I was about to lose confidence, because I couldn't understand the Italian. However, my pretty female teacher spoke to me slowly with seeing my eyes to eager to make me understood. It was great.
My friend who had a course before said that many school activities were organized. However, there weren't any activities in winter.

A Door to Italy

Nice staff. They know you by name quickly. There is a good atmosphere.
The staff is very nice. They always had time to talk. However, I chose not to finish the course because the classes were very fast for me and I had difficulty following them. It's all about grammar and that didn't suit me, specially as the book and explanations in class were all in Italian so I felt I couldn't keep up and kept getting it wrong. The school kindly offered me different solutions, such as starting again in a new group, change teachers or get some private lessons. I rejected this as I had already made up my mind but it was very nice of them to offer. Even one of the staff members offered to help me after class. I want to emphasize that it is a great school but if you are a complete beginner it is very hard and it will be better if some of the assignments/instructions were in English. I hope they take this feedback into account. I lost my patience a few times and I am sorry for the teachers.

That my teacher paid attention to the individuals... and that he didn`t discuss certain material stubbornly
Our apartment was unfortunately very dirty, I was happy that I brought my own sheets for my bed. The mattresses in the rooms were also very poor

Teachers enthusiastic, experienced, concentrated very much on oral communication. Small classes - we were only 3!

A Door to Italy

Federica, the secretary, is very amiable
There were only 4 groups. Teachers' professional levels are very different. Working in advanced group is boring, too much time is used for listenning without lexical and grammar exercices. There is no strict program for studying, many subjects are initiated and then abandoned. Don't expect a serious studying, it's just a supplement for your staying in Italy
