• An announcement made by the UK Government on the 4th of January 2021 has advised that the whole of England moved to Tier 5 preventative measures with immediate effect from the 5ht of January 2021. Due to this temporary measure, schools are now offering online lessons, to remain in place until mid-February 2021. The UK borders remain open with the same travel guidelines in place.
• You will not have to self isolate when you arrive in England if you are travelling or returning from one of the countries with a travel corridor exemption. You will need to self isolate if you have been to or stopped in a country that’s not on the travel corridors exemption list in the previous 10 days.
• Unless you have visited or stopped in any other country or territory in the preceding 14 days, passengers arriving from the following countries and territories will not be required to self-isolate on arrival into England: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Aruba, Australia, the Azores, Bahrain, Barbados, Bermuda, Bhutan, Bonaire/St Eustatius/Saba, British Antarctic Territory, British Indian Ocean Territory, British Virgin Islands, Brunei, Cambodia, Cayman Islands, the Channel Islands, Chile, Cuba, Dominica, Falkland Islands, Faroe Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Finland, Gibraltar, Greek islands: Corfu, Crete, Kos, Rhodes, Zakynthos, Greenland, Grenada, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, the Isle of Man, Japan, Kiribati, Laos, Macao (Macau), Madeira, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Montserrat, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Northern Mariana Islands, Norway, Pitcairn, Henderson, Ducie and Oeno Islands, Qatar, Rwanda, Samoa, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Korea, South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands, Sri Lanka, St Barthélemy, St Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha, St Kitts and Nevis, St Lucia, St Pierre and Miquelon, St Vincent and the Grenadines, Taiwan, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Tonga, Turks and Caicos Islands, United Arab Emirates, Vanuatu, and Vietnam.
• Before travelling to the UK, you must complete the public health passenger locator form 48 hours before your arrival.
• Hygiene measures: all schools are subjected to follow a protocol on cleaning and disinfection which is in accordance with national laws and recommendations. Students have to maintain a distance of 2 metres in the class and school in general and they have to wash and disinfect their hands often and thoroughly; hand sanitizers are provided in all rooms and in the common areas. The use of masks is obligatory.
• Accommodation: shared rooms are not available at the moment due to the distancing rules, but single rooms are available in residences.
• The recommendation is to avoid public transport. If you do use public transport, it’s mandatory to wear a mask and you must stay 2 metres apart from other people.
• In public, people must stay 2 metres apart and it's mandatory to wear a mask. This is recommended by the World Health Organisation.
• Bars and restaurants are adhering to strict social distancing regulation, regular disinfection and cleaning protocols, and they are only allowed to service in a reduced percentage of their capacity.
