Why St Peter Port? St Peter's Port is an enclave of irrepressible charm, with cobbled streets leading steeply uphill with spires and towers owing to a very attractive skyline view from the sea. Castle Cornet is one of the most intriguing fortresses in the British Isles and is definitely worth checking out if you are here. The large natural harbour is densely packed with yachts and busy with ferries which was once a simple fishing settlement before the 18th century.In total the area covers less than three square miles and is home to a mere 18,000 people yet there is still plenty to explore including its tiny passageways, museums, beautiful beaches and lush gardens.
