Additional information
Positive aspects of school
Very efficient teaching in small groups and highly committed teachers. Personal support even beyond pure teaching issues.
Negative aspects
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Excursions by bus or train (self-organised): to Avila (renfe 10 € one way) or Segovia. By bus to Porto (approx. 15 € one way).
Other comments
The secretary's office is very helpful and helpful. The classrooms are located in a former convent.
City/place
The historic core of the city is an inhabited open-air museum. The many students make it a very young city with a lot of charm.
Quality of teaching / language progress
Anyone who wants to can obtain extensive basic knowledge in three weeks - it all depends on personal commitment.

The teachers and all the staff were very welcoming which made it easy to fit in. The school was very well located. All the activities and excursions were very fun.

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
Everyone was very helpful and friendly. The instruction was challenging but very good.
Negative aspects
I would not recommend this home stay accommodation. The facilities were antiquated and not in the best condition. The bed was uncomfortable. The room was in a noisy location, making it very difficult to sleep at night. And the meals were not at all to my liking. Also, I had some stomach distress after meals. I think cooked food was left at room temperature too long.
City/place
I would recommend it!

Positive aspects of school
It's location is amazing. It's less than one minute to Plaza Mayor. Everyone is nice and helpful. The teachers are the best especially Carmen. Everything was fantastic and the best thing is the accent and the pronunciation. Not only in the school but, in the city.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
In off-peak periods, there isn't a lot of social activity organised by the school. So you may find it a bit lonely. Bring plenty to do in the evenings and a good pair of walking shoes so you can explore the city.

The college and staff were really nice. The teaching was very good. I had two reservations about the set up. First, on the first day, another student and I were kept waiting for 30 minutes in a classroom on our own and did not know what was going on. We weren't given a proper learning needs assessment. Secondly, there was no activity programme operating. We were just given the option of a bring and share meal with the other students.

I was placed in a host family with a dog while I indicated that I had an animal allergy. In the end, this went well. And the host family was poor quality food. Have also heard from other students that too often got hamburgers, hot dogs and the like and no nutritious meals. Many people therefore skip the meals with their family.

I really didn't like the teaching, it is not the way I learn. The teacher spoke for 90% of the lesson even talking over me when asking a question or responding. The 10% that the students do talk is generally repeating parrot fashion, I never felt engaged. Picky but they could do with some more things in the classroom to make it echo less.

Other comments
1. When I asked for more information and pictures of the optional accommodations the secretary sent me a link to a fancy and very expensive hotel instead. They didn't make much effort to help me find accommodation and in the end I booked through AIRBNB and not with the help of the school. 2. The school offers only notebooks with exercises and no other materials what-so-ever, no books, no internet site to practice or any other up-to-date method of teaching. When you study rules and don't have printed materials it is very problematic.

I was kind of disappointed in the teaching method. It was a passive, not really challenging way of learning a language, and we got homework, which I think takes away all of your intrinsic motivation. I just think the teaching method is more suitable for younger people.

Due to the last minute change of digs, I was initially in a horrid flat a long way from the school, But after one night there I pleaded with the staff at the school to change my digs and with a little luck due to a cancellation I ended up around the corner in a very acceptable, if basic, room in a shared flat.

The flat I lived in has a perfect location, very close to school BUT the schedule of a time when the heating system was ON was very strange, only 6-8 pm while the outside temperature in the morning was about 0 Degree... All the time I felt terribly cold.
