Additional information
Positive aspects of school
I took English and German courses. For me, my English lessons with Valeria were the best and had a great time. In general, the school pays attention to students and they are organized and have quick solutions if you have a question or problem. Also, Lots of culture together in the school. That was one of my favorite things.
City/place
I feel lucky to have spent my 2 months here.

Staff is fantastic. Location is great.
Negative aspects
The school is not well set up to accommodate young children who are fluent. If this were communicated ahead of time I would have made arrangements for a different learning environment more suited to a fluent child’s needs such as one on one lessons.
Accommodation
Host was great. Was helpful and kind. Would stay with them again.

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
I think, their online lessons were processed better than other schools.
Negative aspects
Teachers were changing too often. I understand that they need to take holidays and stuff but I never completed one level without changing teachers. I think I met all their teachers when I was in B1 course. From B2 level, the class get too boring that I would not recommend this course to anyone.

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
Most of all I liked that my classes were taught by different teachers: I had an intensive course, with classes in the morning, afternoon, and evening. And there were different teachers each time. It makes the process of learning more diverse: each teacher has a different style, and this is a big plus.
Other comments
I really liked the internal organization of the school. The school itself is large, and all the processes are well organized. There were no problems with any of my questions, and I always received answers and solutions. The staff is very caring and helpful.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
For your money, you have the right to decide for yourself what you need and demand the provision of appropriate quality services!
Other comments
In general, the school is quite happy (if you do not forget about your rights!). I plan to return for the third time)
City/place
The city delights with its beauty!)
Quality of teaching / language progress
Was twice at premium courses. Both times the teachers gave what I needed. Each has its own pros and cons in teaching: the first time they devoted a lot of time to speaking (!), And the second time they hardly spoke, they just listened to the teachers and sorted out the grammar. Replacing teachers (at the time of the absence of the main one) did not suit me at all, especially Klaus (time and money down the drain). She took private lessons from Korina. I was very pleased !!! It is also not clear by what criteria the test is conducted at the end of the course. They give so little time that there is no time for reflection and correction ... Only you have time to read the assignment (((Well, of course, a low test score is not a reason not to transfer the student to the next course. This may only be recommended!
Accommodation
Very high audibility. If the noise in the corridor becomes silent by night, then the external noise is 24 hours a day (especially terrible in the summer with the windows open !!!). The fact is that there is a railway station on one side of the campus (it is especially terrible at night in the summer!), And on the other, the Flixbus bus station. If in winter you can close the windows and bearable, then in the summer due to the lack of air conditioning and fans in the room it is impossible to close the windows and sleep is also almost impossible in such a noise. Another nuisance: these are silverfish (similar to wood lice) that crawl out of the shower when the lights are turned off and even crawl along the walls into the kitchen. I couldn’t walk barefoot at night. Yes, and the fruit had to be removed from the table for the night. I don’t know how to whom, but to me - disgusting (((

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Don't hesitate to change a class if it doesn't suit you.
Other comments
Admin staff members are helpful so don't hesitate to refer to them any issues.
City/place
It is an expensive, touristic city. It's hard to find an accommodation and the cost of living is expensive. The locals are not so friendly.
Quality of teaching / language progress
Good value for money, good choice of study options.
Accommodation
Small room, noisy dorms, internet often drops. Dorms are far from the school and the city center. Grocery shops are 20 mins walking distance from the dorms.

The teacher was good. I was assigned to B2 on the first day but it required too much German vocabulary for me. On the second and subsequent days, I was assigned to A2. That was appropriate for my needs. Some of the exercises in the two books made little sense to me.

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
I like the organisation, school staff and teacher. Not all student rooms had air condition (this summer with +37 in the shadow it was quite critical).
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
If you are an adult - it's better to study on during the summer holidays.
Other comments
I definitely recommend F+U to other students!
City/place
Amazing city!
Quality of teaching / language progress
Too many students per group and the dynamics of the lessons is not very high. I'd recommend to separate teenagers and adult groups. Teenagers are cool, but they don't pay for their education themselves and don't really value the time. And, please, more exercises with speaking.
Accommodation
I liked my accommodations and the service provided, especially the meeting and transfer the first day. One thing: internet connection is very-very poor.

Positive aspects of school
The campus is dispersed in few locations, but is highly accessible by Straßebahn.
Quality of teaching / language progress
Overall it is an enjoyable experience to be in the C1 class of this institute, the administration staff is very helpful for arranging student activities and handling cases about accommodation. For buying course materials, I think the school can provide book list for prospective students prior to beginning of the class, and the option of on loan or buying a new set should also be stated clearly.
Accommodation
I think they could provide basic cooking utensils for students for free. Some international students chatted at the main entrance till very late at night (after ten p.m.), which was annoying and not controlled.

The most wonderful thing about the school is the professionalism of the teachers. I am specifically talking about my professor, Patricia Balazikova. Not only is she very professional but also a very kind and friendly type of person. Every day she never failed to not only teach us, but to also make the teaching fun and enjoyable. The professor also gives Literature once a week which had a really positive impact on my Education.

I liked the location, near the old town, shopping centers and a large bus station. The city of Heidelberg itself is also very interesting. I liked the host family too.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
Try to arrive at the beginning of the course, because otherwise you will be placed in a group that has been studying for a while. If you choose accommodation at a distance of 40 minutes from school, keep in mind that you will be accommodated in the suburbs, and most school activities will not be available to you, since there is almost no public transport in the evening and on weekends.

Positive aspects of school
Apart from the classes, it is interesting the offer of cultural or leisure activities. Some might not seem so interesting at first, but it worth participating to get to know people and the city during the first days.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
It is important to prepare the level test beforehand because 30 test questions is not really enough to truly evaluate your level and you could end up in a level which is too easy for you Even if your German was rusty, in a couple of days you would be back to speed and it's a waste to be in a class where you are not learning anything. If this happens, make sure to request that they move you up.
Other comments
The courses don't really start on Monday as announced but new students are placed in long-term courses which have been going on for months. In my group, there were people who had been in that course up to a couple of months. Also, possibly due to the summer period, the teachers changed several times. One for standard lessons, one purely for grammar and another for conversation. This is actually an advantage, because each teacher has a methodology and an accent and different aspects of the language are perceived.

Insider tips about what future students should not miss
The school has several buildings in different parts of the centre. The main one is good but if they send you to Römerkreis, it is super noisy due to the traffic and trams oustside. In summer you have to choose between actually hearing the teacher or being able to breath because if they shut the windowns, it is too hot.

Professionalism, organisation, curriculum (seemed appropriate for my A2 intensive) and location.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
It is for young students. Most seemed to be in their twenties with very few older than that. I, at 73, was far far older than anyone else there.
Other comments
What I liked least was my teacher, OLGA. While she knew her subject thoroughly and was herself energetic, she was moody, rude, lacked patience and treated anyone not 'up to speed' (most of us) as stupid, like kids in a Junior High. I realise with an intensive course there is a lot of material to get through, but Olga seemed more interested in telling the class about herself and her opinions, than ensuring that the students understood the material. She did not make it 'fun'. She is the least favourite of any German language teacher I've ever had.
