Location: Embassy Junior Centres (EC) Portsmouth is located in the port city of Portsmouth, on England's southern coast. Housed within the University of Portsmouth, junior students receive a fantastic view of further education whilst reaching their language goals and having an excellent time. These fun-filled junior programmes offer everything students need to feel comfortable during their studies, packed with activities, excursions and many memorable visits to local sites and landmarks. Students have excellent access to the school via train, with Portsmouth & Southsea Train Station within a 10-minute walk of the school's front doors.
Course selection: Course selection with Embassy Junior Centre in Portsmouth is fantastic for Junior students, offering a fully immersive English Language experience within the surroundings and facilities of one of the area's most renowned universities. All courses are inclusive of 20 weekly lessons, afternoon and evening activities and at least 2 excursions per week, in addition to all meals and accommodation. Daytrips may include trips to London, Brighton or Oxford, whilst half-day excursions may take students to explore such exciting places as Gunwharf Quays, The Isle of Wight and Arundel Castle.
Accommodation: Accommodation is housed within the University grounds and consists of single room en-suite facilities. Each room has a desk, wardrobe, chair and free WI-FI, ensuring students have all they need to keep in contact with their parents and guardians whilst enjoying their summer programme.

Nestled by Southsea’s seafront close to the University of Portsmouth, our centre and accommodation are a brief stroll from the Historic Dockyard, and Clarence Pier. Southsea’s top attractions include Spinnaker Tower and Southsea Castle, which are a stone’s throw away from the accommodation at Rees Hall.

Activities & excursions
All our programmes include a variety of full day and half day excursions, and students also have the opportunity to take part in additional trips (known as optional excursions) if they want to explore the locality further.
When not out on excursions, we also offer our students a wide range of activities to enjoy. These activities vary differently from centre-to-centre and are very much dependent on the facilities available to us, but in general we always try to include a range of sporting and non-sporting events as well as larger, whole school, evening activities such as discos, karaoke and cultural quizzes.
Our activity programme is designed to ensure that students maximise
their opportunities to mix and meet with other students from all over the world in a less formal setting than a classroom, that they continue to use their English language outside of the classroom and that, most importantly they remain healthy, happy and have a fun experience!
Special note for 2024 holiday season: If you plan to take a course during the high season months of April, June, July or August 2024 we urgently advise you to book as early as possible. In 2023 many schools were fully booked during the holidays, and the situation is unlikely to be different for 2024 due to a current shortage of teachers, which affects most schools.
