Location: Global Village Calgary is an English language school in the Canadian city of Calgary, in the province of Alberta. The school is found in the downtown neighbourhood, known as the city’s commercial hub. The Calgary Towers and Glenbow Museum are popular attractions within this district.
Getting around: The school is located in a well connected travel hub of the city. The neighbourhood is very central, so there are plenty of bars and restaurants as well as after class activities reachable by foot from the school. A central tram station is 300m from the entrance of the school. The station has two lines running through it that connect to various pivotal locations throughout the city, including the Calgary Zoo.
Courses: Group English lessons for the general use of the language are available at Global Village. These are available as full time or part time classes. The school offers elective courses that can be combined with general English classes. Possible electives include IELTS, CELPIP or English for Academic Purpose. There are packages of private lessons in different durations so that students can select the one that fits their schedule. Students can choose individual classes for general English or for exam preparation courses.

This new program will provide valuable assistance to students looking to integrate into a Canadian workplace and adjust to work life in Canada.
This 12-week, 30-lesson per week program covers a variety of work-related topics including:
- Job searching skills

Students will have a balance of general English study in the mornings and work preparation in the afternoons. The electives will consist of skills necessary to be integrated in the workplace. Students who want to study at a university or college in Canada must prove their English level meets the academic requirements of Higher Education (aka “Higher Ed”) in Canada.
EAP students attended regularly scheduled meetings with the GV Pathway Advisor. These meetings will not only examine your academic progress on the pathway, but can also prepare you to complete an official application package and to communicate with the university/college while you get ready for your university studies.
