Generally, course material has to be purchased by all students at the school. The costs of course material will be approximately NZ$75 per course level.
Comments about courses

The course fees all include comprehensive placement tests, orientation programmes, English tuition, use of classroom equipment, self study materials, guidance and counseling service from the school, student email access and WiFi.

To borrow a course textbook the school asks for a deposit of NZD 75 (NZD 50 will be refunded when returned).

For Academic English there is an additional fee of NZD 130 for exam course material.

Exam fees are external and are set by the governing body.

Individual classes
Single individual lessons of tuition can be reserved at 95 NZD. The combination of group and individual lessons is highly recommended. Individual lessons will encourage you to actively speak the foreign language and will offer you the opportunity to discuss individual problems and weaknesses.

ABC owns and operates Shotover Lodge, located at the base of Coronet Peak and close to the iconic Shotover River it is perfect for independent living in a community environment.

All rooms include a small and basic kitchen, a private bathroom, heating, and internet access. You’ll be able to enjoy the games and TV lounge, as well as the BBQ area and picnic tables - all of which give you the means to socialise on-site.

To get to your classes, you’ll just need to take the bus for a 10-minute journey.

Students will need to pay NZD 720 to secure the room (first and last week’s rent). If they cancel they will receive a refund with the exception of a NZD 50 administrative fee.

Could you tell me which bus number I need to take to get from Queenstown to shotover lodge and whether I can pay on board or get a magnetic card beforehand, as is the case in Auckland or Sydney?
“As of 2025, bus number 2 runs from Queenstown city centre to Shotover Lodge (which is an accommodation the school has). If you are traveling from the airport area, you will need to take bus number 1 first and then transfer to bus number 2. Students can download the Transit - Orbus Queenstown app to see all bus information and find the best route.
Please note that buses only accept cash payments. Students can purchase a card from the bus driver for USD 5 and top it up at the same time. ”
