Student Opinions About Studying in Tyler

“Tyler is an attractive and peaceful area to live and study in, so you can truly focus on your studies. I enjoy my free time mostly by doing outdoor activities. One major downside for me has been that the town doesn’t have a lot of job opportunities to offer.”

“I love living here, because it’s a small town but with a city feel to it. It’s easy to make plans because the weather is usually warm. I particularly enjoy getting out to Tyler State Park whenever I can, and if you check it out make sure you’re aware that there are black bears in there!”

“I feel safe studying here, I’ve never felt scared or intimidated at any time. Academics are good and people are generally friendly. My advice would be to just avoid getting a car, because the traffic is insane. Public transport is perfectly usable here, and it’s what I would recommend to most people.”
