Oristano does not disappoint with things to visit including the Tower of St. Christophoros, Torrione ("Big Tower") of Portixedda and St. Mary's Cathedral. The city has an old cultural tradition, going back 500 years, called Sa Sartiglia, which is a horseback tournament held on both Carnival Sunday and Mardi Gras and the whole city gets involved to celebrate the winner of this ancient Castillan origin.
