Additional information
Positive aspects of school
Teachers are really professionals.
Negative aspects
We can't decide to keep going with the individual course if it's not in a classroom (for example, in the café on the bottom floor). I think it's a useless and infantilizing rigidity.
City/place
Too many tourists! It's difficult to practice Portuguese when everyone speaks to you in English, Spanish, or French...

Additional information
Positive aspects of school
All three teachers I had were highly professional and good teachers. All school staff was friendly and I liked when the teachers were speaking with us informally, because this is the best training to learn a language in the early stages.
Negative aspects
I felt the methods are a bit old fashioned and there is too much focus on grammar, similar to how it was for me in language learning in college. I would have liked more focus on speaking and practicing the use of the language, being exposed to it in a way more similar to real life, just like the way we learn our native language initially as kids. When we have already learned those basics and some vocabulary, we start learning grammar. I want to learn grammar as well, but it should not be the primary focus in classes for beginners.
Insider tips about what future students should not miss
I recommend going to meetups and day tours for socializing, language exchange groups also.
City/place
One of the best, it is now my favourite city in Europe and I've been to many. The friendliness of people, the relaxed atmosphere and the food are exceptional.
Quality of teaching / language progress
The first week I was alone as there were no other students enrolled on the same level. The second week was with two other students, which was better. I guess now that high season has started, this should not happen (being the only student for some time).

City/place
Porto is a multi-faceted, culturally very interesting, lively and invigorating city, but at the moment with countless noisy construction sites that hinder traffic. The metro works well, but some bus lines are extremely unreliable. Good food can be found in many places.
Quality of teaching / language progress
Perfect number of students (3-4), individually tailored to our needs, very well structured lessons with a great teacher.

Very nice and informal approach to teaching, you quickly get to know other students and teachers. I also liked the location of the school and the teaching method. Also there are free cookies. I arranged my own accomodation, so I can't say anything about that. From what I heard it seems well-arranged.

Great individual attention--my group class was only 3 people! the change of teachers on a daily basis was also helpful to get grammar explanations in different words and get used to different people's pronounciation.

Staff was very accommodating and nice--scanning all my coruse notes as I accumulated about 1" of copies in the process and could not take them along on my (very weight-sensitive) Ryanair flight.
